I wish I could say something nice, showing respect and affection,

but I have never seen Michael Jackson live in concert.. imo. he was not that great live, too much showing off and dancing going on on stage.

But I love the music 1979-1987: Off The Wall - Thriller - Bad. heart

And I love to watch his phenomenal music videos, History Vol. 2 and Dangerous on DVD.

His music and music videos are what counts to me.

RIP. Michael.

I personally grew up with him musically as well as Prince and Madonna. Just last night I told a group of 19 year old college students in Speech class, that my transcripts were as old as Michael Jackson's moonwalk. It was the only moment in my speech when they laughed with recognition.

I was quite surprised at my daughters reaction. Her ring tone is Michael Jackson's PYT and she is devastated.

When she was 4 years old, she forced us to play the free willy video over and over and OVER! She was excellent at annunciation well, all words EXCEPT she pronounced his name, Michael Jackskin. It was so cute we decided not to tell her the truth! She called me on it when she was 6. She also thought he was a white man and was very offset when her father and I laughed until we cried over that.

I've heard Bad being knocked here as a weaker MJ album. It's my favorite one. The Smooth Criminal video in the moonwalker movie (not the horrible speeded up one)... is pure visual/musical perfection for me.

He took the music video to its artistic heights...

Anxiety

in all due respect,

we have discussion sticky threads in three different forums of this site.

there's no shortage of room already provided for folks to discuss this very topic, and in fact people are discussing how MJ touched their lives in those forums right now.

so please. let's try not to flood the site with michael threads. we're trying to be as accommodating as we can, while still keeping in mind that this is a prince fan site.

k?
