Guess who was on MJ documentary tonight? Martin Bashir, the journalist who did the "Living With Micheal Jackson" film and then flipped on him when he gained MJ's confidence.

I remember the rattlesnack,,,,,and I bet he's itching to revive his 15 seconds of fame to throw his useless tibids on the recent news.

I'm trying to hold back tears right now, but at least he doesn't have to deal with this mess, anymore. That's what counts.

Their work's not done yet. For some reason, the God-fearing man in me thinks Michael finished doing God's work.

There was no way I could not weigh in with my Org Brothers and Sisters after an extended absence. The title of this thread itself says it all. There will be time for fuller reflection and comment on all the facets of the life of Michael Jackson later. For now, I don't want to disturb what will hopefully be a peaceful rest.

Michael Jackson was sui generis. As a boy, and young man, he was the epitome of "Blessed Blackness." Talented, handsome, charismatic, with both a light and gravity in his voice that forced you to listen. If he had never recorded another song after Off The Wall, he would have still been mourned for what he gave to the world.

His talents are too numerous to mention. His troubles are better left for later discussion and divine judgment. Suffice it to say Michael Jackson was a key player in the soundtrack of my life, and I know SO many devoted fans are devastated. But MJ's work is a great comfort, and God a great Comforter.

Rest in peace, and go with God, Michael Jackson.

peace

Speaking of unfinished work, I wish Prince would consider reuniting The Revolution for one PPV event at least. Life is too short to deny the obvious right thing to do for business.

I believe that too. Nothing more for him to do on Earth.

I've wanted to be his friend for so many years. It's even more heartbreaking to know (from some reports) that he was alone at the end.... cry

Michael Jackson's mother and sister Latoya were on hand at the UCLA Medical Centre on Thursday. TMZ spoke to another Jackson brother who is filled with regret today for not having had any contact with Michael Jackson recently.

My new signature in memory of MJJ, as well as a shout-out to Prince & Madonna. Nice huh?!?

Nice. All of a sudden I feel more like vainandy...there is no more talent. Madonna, Prince, and Michael were the end of any true mega-super-icon-status stars. The shit that passes for talent today doesn't even raise my eyebrow.confused

I'm not talking about Stevie and some of the older stars still with us. But the 'new' talent lacks so much. I'm trying to think of anyone who can make my whole family rush to the TV to watch them jam. The only other group we did that for was EWF.

I was watching the local news tonight at 10 p.m. and they were in the record store which is in walking distance of my house getting the public's reaction to Michael Jackson's death. The employees said that since the news broke, damn near every Michael Jackson item in the entire store had been sold. Then they interviewed some customers that were buying these items. These were not the typical people you would expect to see buying a Michael Jackson item (of course the typical fans would already have them). These were thugs and these thugs weren't holding up his last album (which I would expect). They were holding up old Jacksons and Jackson Five albums and you know what's on those albums....good music....in other words, jams...fast, uptempo jams...which is something that thugs aren't accustomed to. I hope this isn't just a local trend but a national one because something needs to influence these dead asses these days and get them to jammming like we did and we all know that the old Michael Jackson/Jacksons/Jackson Five albums definately had some jams on them.

I always really liked the group The Jacksons but was never a really hardcore Michael Jackson fan except for the "Off The Wall" album. Other than that, I was more of a casual fan of his. But I will say that the proudest I ever was of him was in 1995 when he released the "HIStory" album. I was already bitching about midtempo shit hop taking over the mainstream at the time and the only person still in the mainstream from time to time that was still putting actual jams on his albums was Prince. Everyone else had either retired, sold out to either adult contemporary or shit hop, or released an album with funk only to receive no airplay. When Michael Jackson released "HIStory", it had several uptempo funky jams such as "Scream", "DS", "This Time Around", "2 Bad", etc. A lot of people criticized him for not keeping up with the times and sounding "current" but why the hell should you sound current if the current sound is a bunch of dull ass bullshit. He put those jams on that album though even though nobody else was still jamming and didn't think twice about it. I was more proud of him at that time than I ever had been because if nobody jams, then jams will die.

I know that many of us have talked about his appearance and his crazy antics over the recent years and laughed about it, myself included. But I will say this, whether I liked his appearance or not, it definately took guts to walk around with it when a lot of the world is talking about it or doesn't agree with it. One of the qualities that I admire most is someone that is going to do as they damn well please and look how they damn well want to look and not give a damn if the whole world hates it. I try to be the same way myself so I damn sure admire that quality in him whether I personally like the way he looked or not, it's the guts that I admire. I wish he would have been more arrogant with his attitude and actually tell people to fuck off but hey, that's not his style and never was. He's always been a very gentle and sensitive guy.

Now, as for the people who constantly want to pop in here every now and then and make the child molester comments, whether you think he's guilty or not, and whether you like the man or not, this definately isn't the time for those comments on the very day of his death. As much as I dislike Shitney Houston, I don't hate her (actually, she give me a lot of entertainment joking about her lol ) but if she were the one that died today, I would never come in here badmouthing her on the day of her death. That would be the upmost total disrespect and would be totally low class.

I feel like I lost a member of my own family. My first concert was at the age of 6 to see the J5 and it was one of the best memories of my childhood. I've seen Michael many times with and without his brothers. Each and every time was a really good time. R.I.P. Michael Joseph Jackson. You are gone far too soon. Thank you for being a part of my life.

this is a really sad day. I grew up in Detroit where he started and been a fan since 1969. I was wondering why Jackson 5 and Michael's music was playing in my head for the past 2 weeks. It must have been a sign. Please pray for Katherine, she is mourning the most.
