"big boy", i dig that cut. The first Jackson 5 show I saw was at the time ABC was released, (yeah, I'm that old) Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

I was supposed to go to bed 5 hours ago, then I clicked on this thread,my phone texts and email started blowing up,and folks from the States have been calling me all night waking me up every time I doze off. After seeing this video I just realized I'm exausted. I'ma try to end this on a happy note for myself and check out those videos online of people partying in Harlem outside of the Apollo. They have folks dancing to his music right up under the fully lit marquis The same.

StephaniePlum said: I became a Michael Jackson fan at the age of 13, and when I was 14 I saved up my babysitting and allowance money for months to buy the necessary fabric and material to make him a blanket commemorating Thriller. I had no sewing experience or talent (so don't ask me why I came up with the idea which required sewing!) and I worked on this blanket for a long time. The black outline around "Thriller" and "1983" is embroidery and that really took me a long time, and I had to sew everything else by hand. I still remember so clearly the day my mom drove me the post office to mail it off; I was so proud and excited as I put that package into the drop box. I know Michael himself probably never saw it, but I hope somehow he felt the love and appreciation I put into it.
This photo was taken in 1984, right before I packed the blanket up to mail it to Michael (excuse the censored face of my sister, who is the one holding up the blanket. this pic was the only one I have on my computer at the moment and I'd censored her face when I posted this picture elsewhere). As you can see in the background, my bedroom walls were pretty much plastered in MJ pictures..and the coverage increased in density over the years after this photo was taken, too. Michael and his music made such an impact on my life, and both gave me memories I will cherish forever and ever. I pray his soul is at peace now. You and I must be the same age. Michael Jackson WAS my generation. No doubt about it.

Some Jet magazine journalist started this old rant about "I don't understand what people find in Michael Jackson, he display self-hatred, he's creepy blah blah blah". I went off on him hardcore style I wonder if he recovered. I don't know yet, he hasn't replied. Like all journalists do, he'll pull the "mind games" tricks and flip it on me he can split himself in two, for all I give a shit. This guys has ALWAYS pissed me off, and this is the 1st time where I gave him a good piece of my mind. He's so out of touch, yet he prided himself by being a veteran journalist(he is old btw). A journalist is the man of the people, how can you call yourself a journalist without looking objectively at why people find a certain personality fascinating? And to play that "holier than thou" tune,,,,that REALLY was the straw that broke the camel's back

Oddest thing too was earlier today I had watched a video by a kid who performed an MJ song in Denmark, I think it was "I Want You Back" and then the next thing I clicked was a twitter report saying a hospital had arrived at MJ's house, I didn't think it was nothing until I came here...

I was saddened by this news. Always respected MJ and he was my favorite artist up until Prince took over. MJ's life has been really rough the last 10years or so and a man can only take so much. He left a huge impact on the music world and world in general. He is a true ICON and LEGEND and not many artists reach that level. RIP Mr.Jackson. Stand Up! Everybody, this is your life!

Maybe because it seems so unfair? I've long quietly hoped he'd get his stuff together and stage THE comeback of all time. Just when it looked like he might do it...this happens. it's really really hard for me to be watching videos of him in his prime. and especially as a child, when he was so young and innocent and his talent was just raw and pure.
