Well, I got a few choice words for him:

Get right, take care of your health, get rid of the dead weigth, and realease the music in the vault NOW, however you want to do it, but DO IT. Tomorrow, is not promised to anyone so stop tripping and celebrate your past and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

i don't even care about the music in the vault as much as i care about prince getting his health in order and getting rid of the negative influences in his world. once it's obvious he's back in good health and good spirits again, then i'll start bitching about the vault again. lol

I don't either. I just hope he realizes the high price fame can exact and acts accordingly to keep himself centered. I'd bet he's pretty devastated by this.

From the reports of how they tried to revive him for so long I get the impression that he didn't want to be revived. I hope he's finally at peace.

I really wonder what the true state of his health was. I really do sad

Even though I always figured something was up the statement from Brian Oxman makes me a little nervous

I became a Michael Jackson fan at the age of 13, and when I was 14 I saved up my babysitting and allowance money for months to buy the necessary fabric and material to make him a blanket commemorating Thriller. I had no sewing experience or talent (so don't ask me why I came up with the idea which required sewing!) and I worked on this blanket for a long time. The black outline around "Thriller" and "1983" is embroidery and that really took me a long time, and I had to sew everything else by hand. I still remember so clearly the day my mom drove me the post office to mail it off; I was so proud and excited as I put that package into the drop box. I know Michael himself probably never saw it, but I hope somehow he felt the love and appreciation I put into it.

This photo was taken in 1984, right before I packed the blanket up to mail it to Michael (excuse the censored face of my sister, who is the one holding up the blanket. this pic was the only one I have on my computer at the moment and I'd censored her face when I posted this picture elsewhere). As you can see in the background, my bedroom walls were pretty much plastered in MJ pictures..and the coverage increased in density over the years after this photo was taken, too.

Michael and his music made such an impact on my life, and both gave me memories I will cherish forever and ever. I pray his soul is at peace now. rose

I saw this too and was surprised at how he looked. His hair looked like it did back in the "Bad" era and he had a bit of color to him. Strange. I felt bad for looking at the pic, but I did notice these things.

Anderson Cooper's show is helping me process all this, as silly as that may sound. I just wish they'd show more footage of him from the Thriller era and not the most recent stuff. I loved how he looked during Thriller.

Last year was actually his 40th anniversary as a professional entertainer, 1968 was the year "Big Boy" came out and the Jackson 5 were hits on the "chitlin' circuit". cool

This news had me crying in front of my boss and co-workers today. I was the only one who cried. I'm not even a fan -- but then again, how could I not be a fan? I rollerskated to "I Will Rock With You", I was at the TV when "Thriller" premiered, I remember when "Billy Jean" and "Beat It" dropped, and then when Weird Al Yankovic did the take off "Eat It", then I studied hip hop dancing where we performed routines to songs on the Dangerous album. And that's when I knew what an amazing dancer he was. I never thought I was a fan, but maybe because it's impossible not to be one. We take the air we breathe for granted. I went to my grandfather's memorial last week, and I am shedding far more tears for Michael Jackson. What does that say?

Speaking of, I wonder how Weird Al is taking the news.

It felt so absurd. I was at work trying to keep my composure and "Eat It" kept going through my head, over and over. sad

if someone at my job died, i'd probably be hearing a lot of comments from my co-workers. if an entertainer dies, why wouldn't the comments of people in his line of work be relevant? really, sometimes we've got to turn our cynicism down a few notches, just for a little bit.

I was supposed to go to bed 5 hours ago, then I clicked on this thread,my phone texts and email started blowing up,and folks from the States have been calling me all night waking me up every time I doze off. After seeing this video I just realized I'm exausted. I'ma try to end this on a happy note for myself and check out those videos online of people partying in Harlem outside of the Apollo. They have folks dancing to his music right up under the fully lit marquis heart

The music video blew everything away. I watched it a million times and never got tired of it. It's emblazoned on my brain (and Vincent Price's voice!) Now I'm remembering that I used to dance with it, I think I memorized all the moves, dancing like a cool zombie
