Who knows how the concerts were really going behind the scenes now that I think about it.
I think it just became to much physically and emotionally for the man.

Well, I got a few choice words for him: Get right, take care of your health, get rid of the dead weigth, and realease the music in the vault NOW, however you want to do it, but DO IT. Tomorrow, is not promised to anyone so stop tripping and celebrate your past and enjoy the fruits of your labor. i don't even care about the music in the vault as much as i care about prince getting his health in order and getting rid of the negative influences in his world. once it's obvious he's back in good health and good spirits again, then i'll start bitching about the vault again.

I rollerskated to "I Will Rock With You", I was at the TV when "Thriller" premiered, I remember when "Billy Jean" and "Beat It" dropped, and then when Weird Al Yankovic did the take off "Eat It", then I studied hip hop dancing where we performed routines to songs on the Dangerous album. And that's when I knew what an amazing dancer he was. I never thought I was a fan, but maybe because it's impossible not to be one. We take the air we breathe for granted. I went to my grandfather's memorial last week, and I am shedding far more tears for Michael Jackson. What does that say?

Even when I see the coroner handle his body, I still feel a peace and a relief in my soul for him.
Word? Wow... I guess they were scared if they let him talk, he'd be in the jail cell. I don't know, something in my mind just had this thought: Michael Jackson slowly began dying on June 13, 2005... his world was crushed even though he did try to live afterwards but you can tell the trial was hard on his ass! I'm looking at the closeup of his smile on Don't Stop Til You Get Enough and thinking "How could people hate you and hold so much malice for you?" "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

OMG - what terrible, tragic news.
No matter how many times I see the headline that he's passed away, it doesn't sink in... then I see a clip of MJ in his prime, dancing in a frenzy, singing his heart out and just DOING IT... it breaks my heart, it really does. I feel so, so sorry for his kids, family members and fans. And I just knew whatever Quincy had to say would tear me up. I was never a massive fan growing up; if anything, I was one of those people who 'd their eyes at the latest headline or publicity stunt. I wasn't a hater - I just didn't get 'it'. Although, like everyone in the entire world , I was fascinated by it. And that's about as far as it went. Then, over the last 10 years, I have really grown to love his music. I'm not sure what started it... probably the fact that he is inescapable... but I love so many of his songs. I can't imagine my collection without it. I remember going home on the bus with my sister, from my Gran's, the day the 'Thriller' video was premiered on British tv. And willing that bus to get a bloody move on!! Seeing the Motown audition tape for the first time. Falling in love with 'Someone Put Your Hand Out'. Only today, I was talking in work with a fellow music geek - probably boring everyone around me - about the upcoming concerts and how much I hoped he plays 'Remember The Time'. On my lunch hour, I was walking around town blasting the 'Dangerous' album - still my favourite - and loving every second of it. And, finally, after all these years I couldn't believe that I would be finally seeing MICHAEL BLOODY JACKSON live in concert - in about 3 weeks!!! I have been gearing up towards it for the last few months... I managed to see Prince, I managed to see Madonna - I'll just never, ever get the chance to witness Michael Jackson live. Gutted. What saddens me the most, is that my housemate - one of my dearest, closest, best friends in the world - probably cried himself to sleep tonight. I have known him for about ten years and, if anyone shares the same level of passion for an artist that I have for Prince, it's him. He is an MJ fanatic. The amount of friendly arguments we have had - MJ vs Prince - or stories I have heard about his MJ experiences... Ten years ago, I promised him that if/when Michael ever toured, I had to be there with him. And, as the concerts have got nearer, there's barely been a moment over breakfast, or when I get in from work, where I haven't heard the latest MJ update. I was sat next to him earlier when his Mum called and saw him breaking down and damn... I feel so, so sorry for him. You never think it'll happen to your idols. MJ, what a remarkable, astounding, breathtaking talent you were. I truly hope you are at peace now. What a huge loss to the world of music.

During the meeting his death was confirmed...I was surprised that I cried all the way home and again just now watching them put his body in the coroner's van. I just cannot wrap my brain around this right now. I don't know why but I didn't dare go to the news channels and I'm glad I didn't. I mean hearing about it is weird but seeing it would be freaky. From the reports of how they tried to revive him for so long I get the impression that he didn't want to be revived. I hope he's finally at peace. Some great music...some great moves...but I feel worse for the kids than I do for Mike...sounds like prescription pills abuse.
He certainly didn't maximize his potential. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson: The Greatest of All Time
Posted Thu Jun 25, 2009 5:55pm PDT by Billy Johnson, Jr. in Hip-Hop Media Training It still has not hit me. It feels so strange. Michael Jackson is dead. He was only 50 years old, a milestone age. He just celebrated the 25th anniversary of "Thriller," the best-selling album of all time, and re-released it in February. He was scheduled to start his show run in London in a few weeks. Maybe Michael's career had reached its peak, but I was not convinced that he was done with music. When he turned 50 last August, I did a series of interviews with radio stations. All of the DJs asked me if I thought Michael Jackson could make a comeback. They wanted to know if he could get past the controversies that dominated his news coverage over the last 10-plus years. My answer was a matter-of-fact "yes." People often underestimate the power of music, and the effect that it has on us. We sometimes forget how a great song with a feel-good message lifts us up, and makes us smile and remember the place we had the most fun dancing to it and with whom. Michael Jackson is one of the few artists in the history of the art form to be able to take one song, like "Billie Jean," and reach people of all age groups, races, and nationalities. Michael has done this time and time again for decades, as both a solo artist and member of The Jackson 5. This type of legacy cannot be erased by even the most horrible of charges and allegations. His music and performances are historic and forever engrained in our hearts. Rick Sanchez, a floor manager at the popular Amoeba Music in Hollywood, says that his staff was "equally shocked" when they heard the news of Jackson's passing. "A lot of people are buying his music which usually happens in these situations," Sanchez says, referring to the breaking news of a musician's death. Sanchez adds that all of Jackson's music always sells well at his location. Rosemary Jean-Louis, a Michael Jackson fan and blogger from Atlanta, is nervous, hoping the news reports that Jackson has died are not true. "I don't want to believe it because it's Michael Jackson," Jean-Louis says. "He has been the guy considered invincible who always seems to come back. He is only 50. He was on the verge of such a big comeback with his concerts. No matter what he's gone through or what the crazy circumstances and dark period of his life with that poor trial-that taken aside-he is one of the musical geniuses of our times, truly the King of Pop." I never learned to do his moonwalk dance move, but like everyone else, I was blown away when I saw him unveil it on Motown's famous 25th anniversary TV special in 1984. I was too shy of a kid to get one of the red-and-black stripped jackets like the one he wore in the "Thriller" video, but I thought it was cool. I did, however, have an afro Jheri curl in 1979, when Jackson released his album "Off the Wall," which included jams like "Don't Stop ‘til You Get Enough" and "Workin' Day and Night." I was 10, and whenever the high school girls on my block told me that I was cute and looked like Michael Jackson, I blushed and took it as a huge compliment. My 6 1/2-year-old twins know and love his music as do the rest of us. This will never change. I know he had been dealing with a lot these last few years. I hope that at the time of his passing he was in a happy place. Reportedly, he had been rehearsing in Los Angeles for the last two months, preparing for his London dates. His 50-year-old life may have been short, but it was impactful. His accomplishments are tremendous. I offer my sincere condolences to his children, parents, siblings, and other family members, and to his friends and fans. "I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. I am love"

i'm getting so fucking PISSED by self-righteous lectures i've read from several people on my friends list about how ridiculous it is for all this outrage over MJ when people aren't outraged over Darfur, Tehran, etc... that's such bullshit.
it just irks me that someone can't be sad for the death of a man who impacted him for 20+ years and somehow it's shallow or isn't showing the right amount of concern for world issues. WTF? time to step away from the keyboard before I start some drama w/ a couple of these peeps, heh... * * *
