So I fear if I play anything by Mike, I'll burst in tears, I can't have that now! I was listening to the news in the car on my way to a meeting. I kept praying, "don't die Mike". During the meeting his death was confirmed...I was surprised that I cried all the way home and again just now watching them put his body in the coroner's van. I just cannot wrap my brain around this right now. I don't know why but I didn't dare go to the news channels and I'm glad I didn't. I mean hearing about it is weird but seeing it would be freaky.

The next day at school, I started moonwalking and kids saw me and asked me to do it!

Well, I got a few choice words for him: Get right, take care of your health, get rid of the dead weigth, and realease the music in the vault NOW, however you want to do it, but DO IT. Tomorrow, is not promised to anyone so stop tripping and celebrate your past and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

And even though I had NEVER seen Michael in person or in concert, I always feel looking at him that I was there with the fans. He was a fantastic singer and he was one of the first true artists that I could say touched my heart with the way he carried himself. He never seemed to be down on anything, he was always trying to find a way to make his fans happy. Not to mention going back to his Motown days, he had already made his mark at 12 years old. That's why I was connected with Michael.

Larry King was just saying on CNN that back when Micheal had the trial, they refused to let him testify because he was going to say that these people were extorting money from him. Even when I see the coroner handle his body, I still feel a peace and a relief in my soul for him.

Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

Word? Wow... I guess they were scared if they let him talk, he'd be in the jail cell. I don't know, something in my mind just had this thought: Michael Jackson slowly began dying on June 13, 2005... his world was crushed even though he did try to live afterwards but you can tell the trial was hard on his ass!

This news had me crying in front of my boss and co-workers today. I was the only one who cried. I'm not even a fan -- but then again, how could I not be a fan? I rollerskated to "I Will Rock With You", I was at the TV when "Thriller" premiered, I remember when "Billy Jean" and "Beat It" dropped, and then when Weird Al Yankovic did the take off "Eat It", then I studied hip hop dancing where we performed routines to songs on the Dangerous album. And that's when I knew what an amazing dancer he was. I never thought I was a fan, but maybe because it's impossible not to be one. We take the air we breathe for granted. I went to my grandfather's memorial last week, and I am shedding far more tears for Michael Jackson. What does that say?

I held it together well enough at work. But, as soon as I sat down on my bed, I cried my heart out...still tearing up. It just hit me like a flood once I started watching Larry King (there was a live feed of a helicopter carrying the body to the coroner's office. wow). Now Anderson Cooper's on...pretty good so far.
Before I got into Prince, Michael was my world. I used to wear a glitter glove to school! A glitter glove, y'all!!!! I stayed up to watch "Friday Night Videos" to see "Thriller". What an exciting time. It's funny that TMZ is mentioning that his death stopped the internet on the level of Pres. Obama's inauguration, because I've always said that watching Obama's ascension and phenomenon during the campaign cycle reminded me of the Michael Jackson craze circa Thriller. That was the last time I saw a Black figure cross racial boundaries and turn the world on its ear like that. Once Purple Rain came out, and the Thriller craze settled down, Prince became more appealing to me. I could never deny Michael, but I was coming of age, so to speak, and Prince just rocked my world. But, around 1987, when "Bad" came out, I rekindled my love for Michael and saw all three sold out shows he did here at the Met Center (MN). I got in free for two, and bought a ticket for one. The first night I skipped school and hung out at the Met the whole day lol I'm telling you I was a fanatic. lmao I ended up getting in with some dude who had an extra ticket--second row, main floor (I have the ticket stub to prove it!!) Even though I found him harder to relate to as the years rolled by, I could never deny his talent or legacy. I've always had a soft spot for him. I still have his book "Moonwalk," still have ticket stubs to the 3 shows I saw, and still have a micro-tape of one of the concerts. I will cherish this stuff for all my days.
