i'm not laying some kind of generational monopoly of grief here, because i understand there are children in the here and now who love him, and there are people my grandparents' age who love him, but speaking from my experience, i think it's almost impossible to be in your late 20s, your 30s, or early 40s and not feel like a bit of your childhood evaporated today.

very, very true. it's like, if you weren't into michael back in the '80s, you most likely knew a friend or two who were huge fans of the man. michael mania was damn near inescapable back then! lol i had a michael jackson doll, me and my nieces used to watch the "thriller" video on mtv every halloween...wow.

I wanted that poster of him in the white sweater and yellow shirt so bad! My mother wouldn't buy it for me 'cause the liquor store that had it for sale jacked the price up to 20 bucks. I begged and pleaded but she wouldn't do it lol She bought me a smaller different Michael Jackson poster for about 4 bucks i think instead lol I had this pink Huffy bike with the banana seat. And I'd stuck MJ stickers all over the bike and the seat lol

Thanks for that :-. It means a lot.

Not trying to sound dramatic, but I seriously feel like a part of me has died. I am in hysterics right now and I don't care who think's that's stupid. It's really hard to expalin unless you were a die hard fan yourself.

I really need to log out of here and go take a drink or something. I didn't think i'd ever take it this hard when he died. I always anticipaited his death but now it's reality and can't believe it. I loved him so damn much and thought I would actually see him concert for once. I can't believe it will never happen now.I am literaly weeping as I type this, I don't think i'll post here for a while

BUT

to the MJ fans and everyone else who enjoyed his music, hope you all have goodnite. This reminds me of short life is. Treasure your life and those aroud you, you never know when they might be gone.

I had to sedate myself before I could return to this post. I am taking this news extremely hard. I have loved Michael Jackson since a young child to this day. My chest continues to tighten up thinking about this. Unlike Farrah Fawcett, no one saw this comming. I was completely blindsided. Rest in Peace, Michael Jackson. There will be no other talent like him, his legacy is set in stone. I LOVE MJ.

my boyfriend, i love him dearly, has just royally pissed me the fuck off. i'm telling him how i feel, that i feel absolutely sick about this and he's like "well he was just an entertainer, people die everyday, why is he so special that the media is blowing this up when there are people who die everyday of all sorts of ages?" i was in awe, how the fuck can you not understand the impact that this man has had on the world? i told him i'd call him later and hung up because he was being a major asshole.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
