I realize some of you are still in shock from the news but come on why are some of you even still debating the "status of confirmation" from cnn? MJ is dead, at this point it is pretty clear. RIP Mike, I was never a huge fan but the man deserves due credit for his accomplishments

It really does. In fact the way it's reported is MUCH LIKE the way Elvis' death was first reported. Ironically when they found Elvis, he had undergone cardiac arrest and people had to keep the media from reporting it because reporting about Elvis was like reporting Big Foot, he, like MJ, had become an enigma so reporting about him was headline news.

So when his death was first announced, some people said he was in a coma, then they said he had chest pains. Finally that afternoon, they confirmed the news that Elvis had left the world at 42.

And now I'm seeing the same reporting on Michael's demise.

And I'm hearing some guy on cnn saying how the idiots around michael were pumping him with pills, now that's not a reporter saying that, it's a friend of the family. But still, for rumours like that to come out this soon, i don't know. and if i forgot to say it before, michael I love you, you gave me great inspiration as an artist.

I've read about that, too. Like Supa said, Micheal was surrounded by vampires, and I say vultures. I wouldn't be surprised if it's foul play.

What?

I'm just saying that a string of magazines will put MJ on the cover when those same magazines wrote a bunch of rubbish about him. The tribute shows will soon come on... People that didn't even like him will start idolizing... UGH!

True.

Very very sad.
I know a lot of sillyness always surrounded him of late, but this is just awful.
I hope his music won't sound different now, sad rather than jubilent.
Hopefully he is somewhere good.

This thread is history, save it permanently, the reaction when he was first reported hospitalized until the death announcement, to the rememberance, this thread is history. Rip mike it really ruined my day hearing that and I'm shocked and sad as hell.

True, even after death I'm still not a fan of his but that doesn't mean he wasn't a great artist.

Yea, but there are people that praise the dead
I just hate that shit
I remember bringing this up on an MJ forum

I know sad ....that was a magical era to witness as a teen music lover...at our age it kinda brings us one step closer to realizing we're not young anymore, and are in fact, not immortal after all neutral

hug Say that. In the last year I've had a few close friends diagnosed with cancer and a brain tumor who ain't even 40. And I keep asking: Is this the age we are now, where our contemporaries are sick or dying? sigh And now this. cry

Goodness. Michael, Prince and Madonna...Remember how we used to be bumping them on the house radio and tryin to stay up late to watch them when they performed on tv shows? They were the end all be all, and we didn't have a care in the world back then while we were listening to them...we didn't picture them not being able to dance all over the stage, let alone be in bad health. Lawd knows I haven't paid much attention to any of these folks in years, but if I swear if something happens to Prince or Madonna's haggly behind I'm just going to be a hot wreck. sigh

We are not children anymore. neutral

I live several miles from MJ's boyhoood home in Gary, Indiana. There's over a hundred people gathered outside and a memorial is setup, flowers, stuffed animals... mayor and people talking to camera crews. This is a tragic tragic shock.

Cardiac arrest...just makes me wonder if he pushed himself over the limit physically (dance, singing, diet? exercise?) in preparation for the upcoming 50 shows at the 02 Arena.

Can we put a freeze on all the conspiracy and speculations.

Let's just show some respect to the great talent that has passed and before you post, think about the humans on the other side of the screen that have lost one of their musical heroes.

We don't need unfounded speculation and gossip right now.

Thank you for the memories...

Every year when I was little for Halloween we'd go over to my mom's friend Margie's house after we were done Trick or Treating and we'd watch Michael Jackson's Thriller.

one of my favorite memories of my childhood.

This is true. Michael NEVER talked bad about other people. So much shit was said about him, so much, but he never turned into a bitter, angry person. I have never heard him bad talk others or get nasty when people talked all the crap they did about him. He was always a positive person no matter what. I truly loved the guy and just can't get over that he is dead.

FACT: Apart from then-Sony CEO Tommy Mottola, Michael never ever had a public feud with anyone. Michael never even argue back publicly at Paul McCarthy.

I remember when Paul was talking about Michael taking his records or something Paul changed his voice to sound like Michael...mimicking him...obviously was angry at MJ
