Just want to add, the Black Eyed Peas manager, Polo Molina said he was the one that hit Perez.

NOW, he may have done it but the Black Eyed Peas were set to leave the country and the police were not going to allow anyone to leave until they had their man in custody.

Polo Molina is straight gangsta so I have a feeling it was him.

Violence is never the answer and using gay slur words is horrible, especially when you get upset when someone calls you that. Uncalled for. The violence and the slur words.

From several eye witness accounts, they approached perez nicely and non threatning and talked with him a while both times in a non-threatning matter.

I think he is making a mistake persuing the case.

As John Mayer said, his video was so long his eye wound healed up by then.

Yeah, but it's unusual to see this many people offering absolutely no sympathy whatsoever, particularly celebs who usually keep him on side for good publicity.

I think if he hadn't said "faggot" he might've garnered some sympathy.

Bingo! nod

FACT: THE worst thing anyone can do to a straight black male hip-hop/hip-pop artist is calling him a f****t. By Mario saying that to will.i.am, he basically tested will.i.am's manhood. Big mistake! disbelief

The moment Mario called will.i.am a "f****t", Polo Molina's level of homophobia just went hell high on that dude.

i just read this on Yahoo!News:

LOS ANGELES – Perez Hilton isn't apologizing for using a gay slur, and says he's never claimed to be a spokesperson for the gay community.

The celebrity blogger said in a statement Tuesday that he will continue to say things upsetting to gay and straight people alike. The comments came after the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation called for Hilton to apologize for unleashing the word during an altercation with Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am.

Hilton said he felt physically threatened and sought the most hurtful thing he could say during the confrontation at a Toronto nightclub early Monday. Police charged the band's tour manager with assault for allegedly punching Hilton.

Hilton said he did what he thought best to stand up for himself.

THIS IS BULLSHIT. disbelief

ya know, i joke sometimes about using words like "fag" and saying "it's different when we call each other that"...for the most part, i'm joking and i don't think it's "cool" to toss around slurs just to be cute or clever, but i've been in enough social scenes to know that sometimes we can use these kinds of words in a kind of loving/familiar way, usually among people who know each other well.

this is not what perez did. he used the word as a slur. he used it out of hate. he used it with hostility.

in my opinion, he's as wrong as the most homophobic hillbillies i had to endure growing up in rural indiana.

it would show a little class if he would cop a mea culpa, but he's made it clear he won't go that route.

if someone had called perez a faggot, we wouldn't be hearing the end of it and whoever dared use that word would be painted as public enemy #1 by now.

meanwhile, perez says he doesn't claim to be a spokesperson for the gay community. funny, he was awfully loud and proud just a couple of months ago during the whole whatsherface prejean gay marriage controversy. i guess gay pride is something he can just turn on and off when it suits him. nuts

wotta flake. disbelief

That statement bugged me the moment I heard it. Makes no sense. If he felt threatened why didn't he LEAVE? Why antagonize the situation? So he acted with intent.

I'm also not thrilled at him referring to Will.I.Am as a thug. I'm not a fan, but that word gets thrown around too easily particularly when it comes to certain people.

Agreed. I felt EXACTLY the same way watching his video rant. This fool is so transparent, trying to play all sorts of disturbing cards through this altercation and I don't like it one bit. He'll latch onto anything or anyone in his quest for notoriety and social relevance, and will likewise throw anyone or anything under the bus that bruises his overinflated ego. He's not remotely genuine in anything he does, and it's clearly demonstrated not only by his smarmy actions, but his choice of language in these ridiculous rants he uses to stir up media controversy.

It's hard for me to feel for anyone in this case. Perez comes off as a whiny hypocrite (didn't he got absolutely ballistic when Isaiah Washington used that word?) Yet, I don't think someone is justified in hitting someone else over name-calling and slurs. So...I guess if forced, I'd have to side with Perez. But, man, does he come across bad in this situation. He hasn't handled himself with any amount of dignity or class at all. He is beyond a drama queen....he seems a little unbalanced.

LOS ANGELES – Perez Hilton isn't apologizing for using a gay slur, and says he's never claimed to be a spokesperson for the gay community.

The celebrity blogger said in a statement Tuesday that he will continue to say things upsetting to gay and straight people alike.
