Wings- With A Little Luck

Jay, you dig the Wings?

This is one of Paul's neat songs. A fantastic melody, but also no edges can be found...

It's an amazing song though. I like most of the London Town album, though it's not very popular and is no "every song is a hit" album, like BOTR.

Just discovered last year's 'Firemen' album, 'Electric Arguments'. Wow. It's fantastic! It's about as edgy as Paul gets. I was reminded of the fact that, Yes! this IS the guy who wrote 'Helter Skelter'. ...Well it's not quite that edgy, but it's still a pretty decent album.

Paul's had a bit of a renaissance since Flaming Pie.

Imo even since Off The Ground!

But FP was amazing, one of my favorite Macca albums!

Well, unfortunately I did not like the Electric Arguments album that much. It was too edgy for me. I disliked the voice and stuff...

I'm madly in love with Memory Almost Full!!! what a great album, every song is great!!!

btw, I don't think Helter Skelter is edgy at all. Pauly just tried to be tough after listening to The Who. He wanted to outdo them in terms of edginess.

But on the White Album John's songs are much edgier. Yer Blues brought new dimensions in John's songs. "Yes I'm lonely, wanna die" over that dirty blues riff?

In Happiness Is A Warm Gun he sings about heroin and Julia is one of his most b eautiful and personal songs.

That's what I call edginess.

In saying that Helter Skelter was edgy, it was meant on a scale of Paul. ....i.e, edgy for Paul.

Clearly that is not, and has never been, his strength. ...Not that he has ever needed to be edgy, for that matter. Particularly when you've written some of the most beautifully perfect pop melodies the world has ever heard.

The man is a god.

and this means??

you dislike it?

I never consider songs like this "The Wings". For me it's Paul McCartney.
