Not THIS version. This one is even more FUNKIER than the single Motown released. That fucking chorus is bananas and Diana's vocals sound as if she came from the underground than the posh lifestyle she was living. "GET OUT! GET AWAY FROM HERE!" Had me dancin' silly a minute ago. I bought 1999 when I was 9 or 10 then proceeded to purchase every Prince album/single i could get. I even hung up the shower poster over my bed but under my canopy. It was months before she noticed it and she never said a word. It stayed up til high school. She did however take a perverse pleasure in telling everyone that came to the house that Prince was my boyfriend. GOOTDAAAAYMN I know good & goddamn well that couldn't be my moms coz the last time my big sis sneaked into the crib with this record stached under her leather jacket... She got served with knuckle sammishes and some bitch slaps on the side Momma is the BIGGEST hypocrite you know whats her fave artist? I miss my momma like hell though [Edited 6/18/09 14:56pm]

I remember my mother and aunt going to see Millie and when they came home everyone was shocked and titillated at her raunchy ass show. I was sneaking round the corner, breaking my neck to overhear them retelling what happened at the show. Then outta nowhere a shoe came around the corner and my mother told me to take my nosy ass to bed.

This is my favorite by them. Can someone explain why Tavares also had a version on the soundtrack? That never made sense to me.

This may be the 1st real recognizable disco tune. Whatever it is, it's still killer. Dig The Three Degrees and MFSB doing TSOP:

Disco's origins go back to at least 1973. I always believed this was one of the first real disco joints:

Speaking of First Choice, I always dug this joint. They were Philly's answer to Detroit's Martha & the Vandellas as First Choice was the answer to the Supremes!

I forgot Ya'll reminded me when my oldest brother was 13 and went on a field trip and came back with the Snoop Doog Doggystyle cassette my mom saw the cover and the comic strip inside and blew up! She told him "You can have the tape, but not the cover" and proceeded the tear it up into little pieces My brothers stayed testing my mother, especially when they started buying No Limit Records CD, especially this one "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I have an uncle, who loves this record. I remember the day he came over to my house as a kid. He played this record to death. In fact, some years back, he got that song "Dangerous on the dance floor", only because it contains the sample of "Dangerous On the Dance Floor". Now that reminds me of the scene in Mo Better Blues where Spike Lee says his mama whupped his brother's ass for putting a Betty and Veronica comic on their wall. I came from Panama at the age of 7 the summer of 1980. Lots of music, even disco, was still playing on the radio. I remember Off the Wall staying on heavy rotation that summer.
