10 @ 10 (1967) 100.3 (The Sound - All About The Music) in L.A. has a nice segment they've been doing.
Every morning at 10am they'll play a set of 10 songs based on a specific year. They will occasionally do special sets with no year restrictions. The basic premise of the station is to loosely adopt the Free-From FM format of the 60s. They do extend the playlists to include present day Rock artists. Also, they have real DJs and they're not a Clear Channel station. Today's 1967 set... ...Femme Fatale - Velvet Underground ...Mellow Yellow - Donovan ...Little Bit O' Soul - Music Explosion ...Foxy Lady - Jimi Hendrix ...Dear Mr Fantasy - Traffic ...Lovely Rita - Beatles ...Gimme Some Lovin' - Spencer Davis Group ...For What It's Worth - Buffalo Springfield (Don't know why the poster used Jefferson Airplane photos but it is what it is) ...I Never Loved A Man - Aretha Franklin (No studio version on YouTube) ...The End - The Doors *(Not sure what the text says and some photos may be disturbing) tA Tribal Disorder "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all." | |
