What u guys are sayin, is so wrong, ok they have a varied fan-base, 9-16, but mot most are in there late teens or 20s. They don't accept the kids, cuz we all know the kids don't what there bout, they see like 9 members wearin masks, and they think its cool!

All the bands u mentioned who u think are the real deal, i never heard of um,(well slayer) says it all.

Look i'm respect Kerrang, they only like the true pionners of metal, they don't put crap in there mags. So y is SlipKnot seens as best live, band? I was a bit weary of them at 1st, but when i saw them live i was astounded. Look there a band who write there own music, and play it without a crapy cirograper. So get the real crap bands/artists who don't do this, (hint) Britney Spears, aerosmith, bon jovi, nelly, nsync, mary j bilige, blink 182, the list is endless.

i dont like Slipknot, got a friend who's a huge fan of them.. everytime she shows me something with them, I'm scared to death.. gosh they're sooo scary.. lol!!

I've seen Slipknot a few times live and they're awesome. They're one of the most agressive bands I've seen. The music is heavy and well done.

You’d think with 9 members that they’d be able to put together and play a song worth listening to. The whole “dressing” up thing ended when everyone found out that Halford departed Priest in '91 and admitted to being homosexual, not that there’s anything wrong with being homosexual.

The band is hiding behind an image, and a really stupid looking one at that. They want to impress the little self-angry white teens who think they’re so hardcore because they wear a Shitknot T-shirt they got from a Shitknot concert.

It’s quite sad that they’ve sold so much, because they’ve inspired so little. Unlike “REAL” Metal Bands, Shitknot is nothing more but some lacky poser-band, and because of such a thing, we’re overrun by a bunch of self-proclaimed “maggots” who think they’re so into hardcore “Metal.”

Just remember that Shitknot does not play Metal, and NU is NOT Metal nor a sub-genre of Metal. Nu’s REAL abbreviation comes from “Neutered” which in case, as you append “Nu” to “Metal” = “Nu-Metal” - in reality “Neutered Metal”. The best desription will turn out to be, “Metal Music who’s balls been cutoff, therefor only pretend to be.” Also see: “Posers - n 1: people who habitually pretend to be something they’re not.”

As you can tell the hordes of “maggots” denied NOT calling Shitknot Metal, therefor strategically named by true Metal heads created “Nu”, it ended up that these yuppy posers liked it, because it made them feel like they’re apart of some imaginary hardcore group. Yeah, calling it “Nu-Metal” was so rebellious and is a way to express one’s inner-anger. Funny part is, the REAL appended name of Nu comes from Neuetered as explained above, and of course Metal fans of TRUE Metal get the last laugh.



And it’s no surprise if you think that Shitknot was any good.

Before Shitknot was even a bathroom wall concept, there have been “Metal” bands playing hard music that even back then, STILL sounded better than anything Shitknot can actually imagine coming up with at this time.

Bands such as Slayer, Napalm Death, Cannibal Corpse, Brujeria, DEATH, Celtic Frost, Megadeth, Metallica, Obituary, Emperor, Bathory and even Helloween just to name a few. At the point, bands like Shitknot only “try to be”, but fail to “actually be” like the TRUE Pioneers of Metal.

If anyone tries to preach the greatness of the world’s #1 Hard-Pop band (Shitknot) proclaiming it as Metal and knows nothing about Metal, and knows nothing about the bands that Pioneered Metal, then maybe he should consider a change of profession, even hardcore punk is more “Metal” than Nu-.



And you believe a “Magazine”? Sure it’s their own opinions, but it just because these idiots believe Shitknot is any good and is voted their most favorite band, doesn’t mean they’re revolutionary.

The Talent, or lack there of
Shitknot does more BAD than GOOD, in fact they do NO GOOD. Lets have a nice break down on the core elements that create the so-called band.

James Root and Mick Thomson
First of all as for the guitarists, they usually only play 1 riff, and consistently repeats that single 1 riff which causes their music to sound nearly exactly the same as the last song, kind of a shitty loop too. Even I can come up with something better. They also do not know how to execute an actual guitar solo, which is both bogus and sad considering that the Guitar Solo makes good Metal Music. They have a leader guitarist “Mick”, unfortunately he doesn’t know how to “lead”. Even Hetfield played 200% better solos (and rhythm) than Mick, and Hetfield isn’t even the Lead.

Paul Gray
The Bass is overly distorted, and I can tell you right now it’s only because they’re making up for the lack of power and play that is missing in the band’s guitars. ANYONE can overly distort a guitar and pretend to play hardcore music, but it takes actual talent to make both GOOD hardcore sounds off of it, the talent that Shitknot obviously lacks.

Joey Jordison
Joke of a Drummer one may say. I’ve once read threads on about how people think he’s one talented drummer, but in reality they were praising someone who just knew how to kick a double bass drum faster than they did, which isn’t even fast enough to begin with. The problem lays in a lack of creative playing, his thrash, grinds and double pedal play is down right pathetic. He makes even some of the best instruments sound like tin cans, which is something that’s usually done the other way around in the Metal world. I’ve pissed in a bucket that has better beats than what Joey could muster.

Corey Taylor
First of all, no matter how ANYONE tries to spin it, Corey is a completely wad when it comes to voice, singing and performance. Corey sounds like he’s getting man-pounded from behind by an inmate named Slinky as he’s trying to make noise from his vocal chords to the mic. There is 0 talent in this man and I discredit anyone who would disagree. It’s obvious that since any of these players happen to do better than what the person can, that they look up to them over it. As it is present in this very thread.

Extra Jokers
If you’re going to “pretend” to play like a real Metal band, the first thing you have to do would be to dump DJ Sid Wilson. No “real” Metal band would have a DJ for their entire style, unless it was for a project of maybe “1” song. I’d also like to add that he can’t even “DJ” properly for that matter and makes the band sound like a BAD cross of hip hop and rock, which on it’s own, is already a BAD combination.

I also laugh at the idea of anyone finding the lyrics of Shitknot to be worth anything, I mean it doesn’t take anyone outside of Elementary School to write a chorus line of “People = Shit”. Come on now, the lyrics, their content and their execution is a complete joke, and one of the biggest jokes in music today.

And now, at the very end, you have a HIGHLY overrated band who’s fanbase consists of angry white teens and young adults that are fooled into thinking they’re hardcore, Connected to the “Music” and apart of some falsified Hardcore Music Revolution. I hate to be the one to bring in the bad news from a place called “Reality” and I don’t mean to say that you SHOULDN’T listen or LIKE Nu-Rock/Pop bands like Shitknot, it is after all up to you… but Shitknot sucks Strapping Young Lad’s hairy anus.
