Kylie was more like Susanna Hofs...Debbie and Tiffani were more "dropped at mall, picked up by mom". to a 12 year old, yes...19 seemed older and far more grown than a 16 year old. Who knew! POP princess Kylie Minogue was yesterday hailed as the greatest GAY icon of all time. Runner-up in a survey of 5,000 gays by Onepoll.com was Dolly Parton. Abba were third and Judy Garland fourth. David Beckham was sixth and Posh was 12th. http://www.thesun.co.uk/s...le6978.ece You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

^^^ No, she wasn't heavily marketed here, which is why now the US is the only place she isn't huge. However, in her earlier career (the posted vids), she had some heat. I liked her back then, but she just disappeared. Ihad no idea she was still so big until into the 90s. We just stopped hearing about her. She was the White Five Star to us Yanks.
I scratch my head about why once she transitioned into an adult pop star, she didn't take off here. Maybe it was marketing or she was too similar to Madonna, but the US has missed out on the magic of the dance diva extraordinaire.

yeah but look at her look in the Kylie era to her look in Rhythm of Love era she was never considered a Susanna Hoffs in the states she was the Locomotion girl. she was never considered sophisticated. that's why she's avoided doing promo in the US is because she doesn't want to keep talking about something she did 21 years ago. Loco-Motion...Walk Like an Egyptian, dancey, upbeat, and basic. Sound of the times. It's hard for foreign stars (who aren't English) here, esp. it was back then. I don't know if you're a Yank, but we only got to see tiny bits of these folks and had no real way of judging them overall. Surely Kylie doesn't think we'd want her to rehash Loco-Motion after all these years?

Are you saying Madonna was "fucking for tracks"? Debbie is very talented but I guess that third album was a misstep (perhaps she wasn't "suggestive" enough) and she never recovered from it. It really has nothing to do with anyone else. OFF-TOPIC: Jellybean Benitez & Madonna dated once.
