Jody was pretty big Yeah she was huge.Her first solo album had like,five or six hot singles.Those songs were all over the radio in 1987/88....on the R&B and pop stations.Her follow-up album 'Larger Than Life' in 1989 was also very successful. When she left Shalamar in 1983,she wisely took her time before launching a solo career.She didn't rush things.She went to Europe for a few years,developed a new look and style,then came back to America and kicked ass in 1987. | |

okay, now i know the problem with this series, they need to hire some real film makers and interviewers. this show didn't teach me anything new about Shalamar. I found myself bored as hell...the few new juicy bits (like jody's pregnancy) are lightly touched on and then thrown away...a real director and interviewer would probe and find more on the topic.
oh well, it was fun hearing all the old songs and seeing how horrid Jeff Daniels and Howard Hewitt look. What has changed with Daniels' face? He looks odd now. Hewitt just looks like the pimp he has always looked...but instead of working mainstreet he'd be working East Oakland. Space for sale... | |
