If I had to name the 10 songs from the '80s I love most, this song would make the list. Even as a kid, I couldn't fathom the idea that it was only a bonus (CD-only) track on their first album. It's the best Culture Club song by far.
As an aside, I've always found it interesting that they subtitled it "Clock of the Heart." George never says that phrase in the song (although he does say "clock in my heart" once). Still, it's a nice turn of phrase that's undeniably more majestic than the obvious "Time (Won't Give Me Time)." "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis | |

That song takes me back to graduating from 5th grade. Easily on my top 100 fave songs of all time. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

The beats sound Motown esque but the arrangements definitely scream the sound of Philadelphia. | |

Yeah,this is one of my favorite 80s tunes.This song is sheer perfection!  It takes me right back to the spring of 1983.I've said this many times,1983 was an AMAZING year for pop music.So many new and established artists/bands released some incredible music.
"Time" (Clock Of The Heart)" easily makes my 'Top 10 songs of the 80s' list. | |
