If I had to name the 10 songs from the '80s I love most, this song would make the list. Even as a kid, I couldn't fathom the idea that it was only a bonus (CD-only) track on their first album. It's the best Culture Club song by far.

As an aside, I've always found it interesting that they subtitled it "Clock of the Heart." George never says that phrase in the song (although he does say "clock in my heart" once). Still, it's a nice turn of phrase that's undeniably more majestic than the obvious "Time (Won't Give Me Time)."

I think I mentioned on another thread ages ago... this tune reminds me of classic Philly soul, great arrangement and George's voice is fantastic.

The beats sound Motown esque but the arrangements definitely scream the sound of Philadelphia.

He used to be able to sing his ass off. He can't anymore due to smoking and drugs and general laziness. He no longer sings Time live because he can't hit any of the notes.

One of the greatest vocalist of my time. My mother LOVES George!!

My favorites by them are

1. Do you really want to hurt me.
2. Mistake No. 3
3. Time.
4. Church of the poison mind.
5. It's a Miracle.

In this order...
"Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Yeah, this is one of my favorite 80s tunes. This song is sheer perfection! music It takes me right back to the spring of 1983.I've said this many times,1983 was an AMAZING year for pop music. So many new and established artists/bands released some incredible music.

"Time" (Clock Of The Heart)" easily makes my 'Top 10 songs of the 80s' list.
