Ebonee Webb was not produced by the BarKays. Ebonee Webb was produced by
Allen Jones who also produced the barkays. Allen Jones also produced another
80's obscure band Kwick. In fact, Barkays keyboardist Winston Stewart is the
only member who played on Ebonee Webb albums. Now whether or not they
discovered Ebonee Webb and introduced them to Allen Jones i'm not sure.

Allen Jones was the "Invisible Bar-Kay" as far as i'm concerned
And seeing that 90% of the Bar-Kays material in the 70's/80's
was "direct rip-offs" of something else.....
PUT TWO and TWO TOGETHER!!!!!

"Something About You"= "Soft And Wet"
.....I REST MY CASE!!!!!

In the end....they fall under the "Bar-Kays Umbrella"!!!!!

None of this is rocket science. The barkays started out as a house
band for stax(otis particularly) and after his death they reformed and
continued to be a house band doing instrumental covers of popular tunes
as well as their own songs. The band did their own version of shaft called the Son of Shaft. The barkays weren't stupid in addition to crafting their own sound they listened to what the public was currently into and crafted material off the current sound. I think it's a stretch when you say 90% of their material was a rip off. Name one song off the Propositions album that was a direct rip off as you put it. I love P but don't tell me he's never borrowed from Little Richard, Jimi Hendrix, or James Brown right up from the music to the way he dresses and the little richard inspired makeup.
lol
Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

everyone borrows from SOMEBODY!!!!! P is no exception- his "trademark yelp" came STRAIGHT from Betty Davis!!!!! His Little Richard hair/makeup and his JB-like dance moves. NO SECRET THERE!!!!! I'm just saying that it's ALL RELEVANT, being that Ebonee Webb is directly/indirectly under that Bar-Kays umbrella. i mean if it worked for the Bar-Kays (AND IT DID), then it's gonna work for Ebonee webb as well.....
cool cool cool
