One of my absolute favs was Philly rapper Larry Larr. That guy should have been HUGE. He's STILL fine!

This is a GREAT era, esp. for rap/hip hop. The acts weren't carbon copies of each other and they were about about chatting skills as well as dancing. This was before jumping cars and dudes wearing Raiders gear (w/ jherri curls)
Also this was the most active era for the lady rappers. A shout out to the female vcersion of Fab 5 Freddy too...Dee Barnes from "Pump It Up" Guys: Chubb Rock Three Times Dope Special Ed Ghetto Boyz Kwame EPMD KMD Special K Stesasonic Big Daddy Kane Kid n Play Girls: MC Lyte Sweet T Oaktown 357 Yo Yo On the rnb tip, there's this group called The Good Girls who, for some reason, remained super obscure tho they were popular. I know, right? These chicks were hot and could sing. They reminded some of The Supremes and some of Vanity 6 because they were both classly yet very sexy. I might post some of these up later. | |

Here's MC Trouble and The Good Girls. MC Trouble was gonna be huge like MC Lyte, but unfortunately she died of an illness when she was about 18 or so.
