My favorite part is toward the end when he breaks it down, I especially love his word play:
"If you wanna go I want you to know Girl that I understand it But I dont recommend it cause I love you more I know you cant ignore That I will die for you And lay down my life for you Girl I wanna see You standing next to me Girl I apologize For each and every lie I want you to be The only one for me Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever" And then he hits that note in the end like only Babyface can. It's a beautiful song. I love that same part Lovesexy82 mentioned. There are other Face ballads I love more ("Where Will You Go," "When Can I See You," and "Whip Appeal" come to mind), but this one is still a modern-day classic. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

While Face is known for his ballads, I also have been a big fan of his mid-tempo stuff. One of my favorites is "If We Try" along with "Lady, Lady," "Well Alright," "My Kinda Girl," and "Tender Lover."

I dont have the album this song comes off, but once LA Reid left him, his music got slow and samey. Still liked some of the cuts he did for other people, but the sound (or his sound) got monotamous and samey barring a few songs. He was everywhere and got more MOR.
The cut in question sounds like many other Babyface assosiated songs. Not surprising, but its still kinda average.

There's your first mistake right there. After Tender Lover, For the Cool in You is Face's best album. His solo work started to slip with the next album, The Day. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

That must be a good thing then, cause country music is one of the most truest kinds of music there is... "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"
