Angela Bofill sorry, al these non British/non English country artists names elude me. She had a hit in 1981 called Tropical Love. The Gibson's hit big with Cuba in 1979. Both sound like cheap Boney M knock offs with phone in beats and ESOL lyrics So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Sylvester was not a man or a woman but a divine creative explosion. I think you got confused with Jobriath [Edited 6/29/09 17:42pm] So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? Yeah he had the nerve to be black and gay, sorry we don't call someone tragic because of immutable biological factors. The man is not tragic, hes a hero and a trailblazer. Its very tragic he died of aids yes, but I meant tragic as in bad singing/musical ability and Sylvester could sing and he had musical ability. So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

His death may have been tragic, but I think his life was pretty fantastic.

But in truth I don't know if there's such a thing as "tragic disco artists". [Edited 6/29/09 18:07pm]

I didn't realize you were using the word "tragic" in regards to musical ability. I'm a huge fan of Sylvester, though feel he had a very tragic life.

BUT I do think in terms of DRAMA and FINESSE, Sylvester definitely was one of disco's most dramatic.
