WHAT SONG IS THIS??? I was listening to some oldie goody station and they played this funky R&B track where the lyrics went something like this:
Male vocals "We've been together...for so very long I would hate to break up...break up our happy home the way we love and the way we cry....something something makes me feel...something something" Female vocals on the chorus " I will be good to ya Be good to ya Be good to ya I will be good to ya" What song is it and who sings it? I loved it and it kind of sounded familiar but not really. Anybody?

The version you heard was Quincy Jones' new jack swing remake of the Brothers Johnson song by Ray Charles & Chaka Khan.

Could be the remake too, just check both. Edit: never mind female voice. [Edited 6/12/09 16:38pm]

I don't even think you hear a woman in the original until the ending. Syreeta Wright can be heard hollering alongside one of the brothers (and another vocalist, I think Billy Preston) singing to the end of the track. Is this the one:

Likewise, I had a personal connection to the 1989 one sensing I grew up listening to THAT version.
