"Pull Fancy Dancer" was their response to their own joint here:
I heard this on MusicChoice a while back.

Any old One Way fans know if there was a rift between the band
and Alicia Myers departure. It seems like i remember hearing that One Way's Who's Foolin Who album was a jab at Alicia Myers. Don't laugh at my funk

I'm a bad black girl because I have no idea who these folks are, but I love the songs. There's always a couple of folks who slip through the cracks over time. This would be one of them for me.

Al Hudson & The Soul Partners
"Detroit vocalist Al Hudson has led various funk and soul aggregations since the late '70s. Although he never landed anything remotely close to a big hit, the group consistently recorded through the '70s and into the early '80s. Hudson and the Soul Partners signed with ABC in the mid-'70s and made their debut with the LP Especially for You. They became One Way in 1979. The group remained on ABC until the early '80s, then switched to Capitol. Hudson produced an LP for Bert Robinson, but his own solo LP wasn't released." (it actually was lol, called "Let Me Be Close" released around 1994 on the Japanese label P-Vine) www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.d...qu5ldke~T0 One Way "This was the later identity of the group originally called the Soul Partners. Al Hudson, Alicia Myers, guitarists Dave Robertson and Cortez Harris, bassist Kevin McCord, and drummers Gregory Green and Jonathan Meadows were the original One Way. They first recorded as One Way Featuring Al Hudson before becoming One Way. They were on MCA from 1980 to 1988 and were consistent performers, if not major stars. They were equally skilled at up-tempo, danceable numbers and creditable ballads and love songs, even though they never had a great lead singer after Myers departed. They scored five Top Ten R&B hits, with the biggest being "Cutie Pie", which reached number four in 1982. They moved to Capitol in 1988, where they released "A New Beginning" in 1989." www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.d...fixqw5ldte Even though Alicia Myers has a great voice, i disagree with the Allmusic-reviewer that One Way never had a great leadsinger again. Al Hudson was still part of the band and had a solid voice as well. Candye Edwards wasn't bad either. [Edited 8/11/09 1:43am]

They always came up with clever songs about new dances. In 1980,they were telling us to "Pop It".In 1981,they told us to "Push".In 1982,they were telling you to "Pull",lol. ...
