Mariah Gushes About New Single, Due June 16th June 11 Link Mariah Carey continues to stock her Twitter followers with breaking news, revealing yesterday that the first single from her upcoming album will hit radio on June 16th. “The 1st single from my new album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel is called ‘Obsessed’ and will be at radio next tuesday. I’m a lil’ excited!,” Carey wrote, pushing the 140-character cap to the limit. “Seriously, this is one of my favorite songs ever. I love the whole album. I’m completely immersed in it. I can’t wait for you to hear it.” Previously, Carey revealed via tweet that her follow-up to last year’s E=MC2 will be called Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. While not much is known about Memoirs, some details have trickled out in the past few weeks. Carey said on her Twitter back in March that The-Dream, who co-wrote Carey’s “Touch My Body” and got Mariah to guest on “My Love” on his Love Vs. Money, is producing at least two tracks. At last month’s Island Def Jam Spring conference L.A. Reid reportedly played a new Carey song called “Hate U,” Rap Up reports. As for next week’s new single, Carey describes “Obsessed” as the perfect summer song: a fun, uptempo tune. “We were gonna go w/the ballad 1st but don’t worry, it’s coming. I tried to make something (cont),” Carey wrote, aware of Twitter’s threshold. “For all who love Butterfly, and even older albums, but “Obsessed” has to come out 1st, asap!! Its different for me, but clearly, its SO me!” We’re not entirely sure what time zone Carey is right now, but her Twitter indicates she was tweeting from the studio five hours before press time, so we know she’s still working on Angel. No official word of the release date has not been confirmed.

A new cd already? | |

Why not? Unlike disposable pop acts, she doesn't need a team of writers and producers to assemble an album for her.

Uhhh...really? • Did you first think Prince was gay? •
Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

Not a Mariah fan but I'm always sort of interested in what she is doing. "Touch My Body" was really good in it's humor (not just the video). I think it makes sense to come back so soon after an underwhelming performing album.

I guess we have different definitions for "team of writers and producers"... Yeah because...a producer is really getting credited for making the music.....not actually writing the song. OR are they writing the song too? Back in the day they used to be two seperate entities..now they tied them togehter and its difficult to say who did what... WE will never know unless they say or seperate the two...just have to give up that argument. [Edited 6/11/09 21:28pm] Straight Jacket Funk Affair

And Chrmbracelet gets no love except for 4 tracks. I dont know what u mean. Emancipation though....was my ISH. Glitter...was coo...had lots of 80's touches and fab slow jams. However she striked out 2 times in the past 9 years in my opinion...she got one more to go. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Mariah is cool, if nothing else at least she can really sing. Maybe this time around she will drop all hip hop duets.

Mariah has nothing but herslef to blame if her record bombed , she is at this point overexposing herself by releasing new stuff too early, I wish her another great success, but I don't miss her at all at this point. MICHAEL JACKSON
