I've been a fan of Amerie's since before "Why Don't We Fall In Love" even hit radio. I liked that song because of the throwback to that early 90's New York hip-hop sound, so I certainly do understand what she was about. However, four albums later, she has not really evolved beyond that. We got a welcome change with some of the songs on the last album, but overall, she's been repeating that early 90's hip-hop sound for an entire decade. That's way too much of a niche for her to find any long-term success doing. It's also a novelty, and her album sales declined from the first to the second album. It backfired so hard with the last album, they didn't even release it in the United States. Doing songs that sound like they literally came right out of 1992 is not going to get her any success. Back when she was doing it, it was a welcome change from the type of R&B that was out at the time. Now we have Keyshia doing the old school Mary sound but keeping it contemporary at the same time, and she's doing it with major success. She's got that niche filled, and Amerie is going to have to come out with something other than a Hot 97 mix show song if she wants to come back.

I totally think the opposite, i'll take the current Amerie over that first record ANYDAY, i hated that first record, to me that was so typical of everyone, and boring. She is at least taking a hand in the movement of her music, the production the choices, the videos, will it sell, no, no one sells at this point, if it moves 100,000 be happy with that, the scene is dead, so talk of comebacks and platnum chart topping is meaningless in music at this point. Her last record was the best thing RB female mainstream in over a decade, Beyonce needs to lock herself up in a room and come out with something that is as good and as effortless as that was.

I love Amerie. She's positive and I like her image so I wish her success, but she isn't consistent imo. I love Why Can't We Fall In Love, Talkin To Me and One Thing, but that's about it. This song I don't like at all.

Honestly i didnt dig the solange record that much, it was a welcome breath of air, but it was a carbon copy of what Amerie was doing, surprise another Knowles trying to dig in Ameries closet. As for Beyonce, she may sing, command a show and a stage, but her music stalled a decade ago, its been Bills Bills Bills for 10 years now.

Just for the record the Video has debuted on the DEF JAM official site, under Amerie. ITS HOT!! love the graffitti images, the overexposure shots, the different looks, and of course the Leggy Show girl Amerie towards the end cant be fucking beat by any means!!
