So, will Guy's 'THE FUTURE' be remastered in the future?

Their debut was remastered last year with a bonus disc featuring remixes. So will 'THE FUTURE' receive the same treatment?

The first album wasn't really remastered. They reissued it. I thought it was a remaster also, then I read the credits and noticed that it wasn't. The best thing about that reissue was the remixes.

I highly doubt that they reissue "The Future". I would love to see it happen, though. Maybe as a 20th Anniversary edition next year. I would love to see a 2nd disc similar to what they did on the reissue of "Guy".

Disc 1 (Original Album)

Disc 2 (Remixes and Rarities)
1. Her (Remix)
2. Wanna Get Wit U (Club remix)
3. Do Me Right (Remix Vocal)
4. Do Me Right (Remix Club)
5. Teddy's Jam 2 (Video Version)
6. Let's Chill (Extended Remix Vocal)
7. D-O-G Me Out (Canine Club Version)
8. The Future (Remix)
9. Let's Stay Together (Remix)

I would guess this depends on how well that 1988 Guy reissue sold?

That being said, it doesn't cost much to reissue something.

I'm sure they'll reissue it at some point in this way. It'd be criminal for them not to include the single edit (remix) of "D-O-G Me Out," though.

TR should do a apology letter for Guy III and a full refund rebate as well.
cool

But the good news is this new Quik/Snoop/Teddy production company that is working on their electro debut. Dante,Calvin and Teddy? That's win win win.

Everything they have done so far proves to me these guys can have a solid catalog. Just dont do anymore remakes. But these guys were born to work together. Anyone who thinks otherwise you dont understand the bridge that connects them all. It's one of those rare unions that alot of people wouldn't think would happen. I hope Teddy has his stunner shades on and takes us to the year 4000 and beyond cool

The record company should pay for Teddy to hang out in Paris and London,Tokyo for a while. It could only benefit his sound not detract from it. Because we all know the contempo producers he has coproducing dilutes his progression.

TR could benefit from producing in Europe or Japan. This will alleviate the hurt he's enduring from his Virginia studio.

That actually permitted me from wanting it. I don't know something about the last Guy/Blackstreet albums threw me off and I just said "fuck it" to buying either. confused

I liked Dancing' on Guy III, but yeah, that last Blackstreet album- Level II- was horrible.

Teddy needs to stop break up one group, then trying to get back with the other.

Actually the real reason probably why Teddy deteriorated was, the co producers/collaborators/conspirators he worked probably didn't have the ethic Teddy's team had. So when you take out Bernard Belle/Aquil Davidson/Markell Riley/Dave Way/ That is some serious component circuitry missing. That would be like taking Sleepy Brown and Rico out of Organized Noise.

The substitute was felt. Hence why you had Level II/Guy III etc. music

I just remembered. Teddy called in to KJLH on Friday morning on a whim. They asked him what he was up to. All he mentioned was touring. He said that he had reunited with Guy and "the original" Blackstreet with Dave Hollister. So, I guess we can expect to see them in the near future.

I agree with you on Teddy's Jam 2. The second one was crazy. The intro and how they mixed it with Atomic Dog.

I think it was Barry Michael Cooper or Andre Harrell who said Teddy Riley was the original black Kraftwerk for Harlem. And that makes alot of sense if you take it in comparison. I wonder what Herbie's reaction to Teddy Riley was. His obvious influence from the late seventies early eighties were with his vocoder mastery had alot of effect on Teddy. And for the record I thought Teddy sounded better with the vocoder than the talkbox. I think because of the fact that Roger Troutman pretty much signatured that instrument.

Yeah, that 2CD reissue was strange, what with the volume boosted mastered remix disc and the quieter album one.

I remember that "The Future" had a video made for it.

There's some recent rehearsal footage of Blackstreet on YouTube. Sounded great. Hope Teddy's sorted his finances out. His main problem in the industry has been ripping a lot of people off. He got a very bad reputation which is one of the reasons why he fell out of favour.
