I know a few people that feel that way. They tend to only like some of their songs. Personally, I love them. I don't think they get the recognition they deserve in paving the way in r&b music. Especially with their 70s work. By the time the 80s came along, they became the creativity went away and it was all about the money. Not saying that they put out bad work, because I like a lot of their 80s stuff, but it doesn't compare to their 70s output. Don't even get me started on the 90s and 00s work.
