British AOR. Who would of thought it? (AOR was not even half as big as it was in the US-just ask Def Leppard LOL)

Great song, though I prefer "china in your hand". Has that crystal clear production that I love from that period. All production and gloss LOL. Great power ballad.

I miss sax solo's lol

Catchy and even a local, but never quite got with Huey Lewis & the News.
out of 9664 song in ITunes, no Huey Lewis.
I did enjoy 'I Want A New Drug' but I don't seem to miss it.

I like both songs. The T'Pau song is a great '80s hit.

"Heart and Soul" by Huey Lewis gives "The Power of Love" a strong run as my favorite by them. Absolutely love that song!

American/adult Orientated Rock. Bit of a umbrella term when it comes to what bands/artists fit it. Good examples being Toto, Boston, Chicago, Journey, Jefferson Starship/Starship etc...

Not really. I dont listen to modern top 40 (particually American top 40 as Iam currently living in the UK), but I don't really here any AOR coming out. Bon Jovi is still going, but he is sorta considered hair metal/rock really.

AOR died in the early 90's really. One of the most characteristic things of AOR is the level of musicianship on most AOR track. This is a blanket statement but tends to hold true. Usually the playing is quite high and slick, as is the production. Thats a criticism as much as a praise for reviewers. UK never really embareced AOR, and for a while, hated Def Leppard, a brit act, for doing it. Still, some AOR broke through now and then, and why I stated the surprise that T'pau were English.
