Talkin' to the priest...
The hiiigh priest...
And everybody out there in the universe...
If what I'm saying is wrong, then tell me the right way to say it....
COZ I WANNA BE MAAAADE OVAAAAH!!!

I wanna go places, I wanna do some things
I wanna be a star, I wanna have a big name
But in my heart, let beauty reign
And when I'm done, I wanna have fame
headbang

Nice remake. I heard a version of this song she did during the Ike days, around '69 or '70. It's posted on IMEEM as "Make Me Over". I wonder if that IMEEM one is the original version or not. I know Tina and Ike remade some of their songs in the late 1960s (like "River Deep" which was turned into a gospel-rock version).

Ah I see... "Tina's Prayer"... gotta find that one and compare. Because I know the one I heard wasn't so tame, lol.

You know, this was my favorite song from the movie. I was pissed when I purchased the soundtrack and found out it was not there!!! It would be several years later that I found out the track, along with "Shake A Tail Feather", were included as bonus tracks on the U.K. version of the soundtrack. I was very relieved to finally get the complete soundtrack.

This particular track was originally released on Ike & Tina's "Nutbush City Limits" album but the song title is "Make Me Over". It has also appeared on various compilations as "Tina's Prayer". Both versions are the same.

Here's the '73 version:

This one has the horns produced like James Brown in this one. Tina co-wrote this with Ike. She wrote the lyrics.
