Kelly Clarkson: I'm Tired of Hearing "the Fat Joke"

"I love my body. I'm very much OK with it. I don't think artists are ever the ones who have the problem with their weight, it is other people."

I'm not a Kelly Clarkson fan but I applaud her for this statement. I think she's absolutely 100% correct.

She's right. Aretha's big as a house, but she can still rock your shiz. It really IS other people's worries. Someone once said, "What you think of me is none of my business." She's on the money with it. Good for her.

I think Kelly looks good. Give me someone who looks like her over any PCD. It's the media's problem and probably most of those with the issue are women. Men really don't care that much.

The industry has this perception that "Big girls" don't fit the image and likes the skinny anorexic meth smoking look. So what if Kelly digs the way she is more power to her.

I think it's wrong to scrutinize celebs for their weight AS LONG AS they have talent not affixed to their image.

I know some of you think Kelly Clarkson can warble okay, but I would argue that her celebrity was sculpted due to her image, which makes her a lot more fair game.

Qualifiers:

1) I have no idea what she looks like, but I'm guessing she's not really fat, just tabloid fat.

2) I am 99% sure she is still in better shape than I am

3) I am not knocking anybody's weight except for an image-based star, and only because they don't seem to understand what made them famous in the first place. There's a reason why MOST of these people start out in good shape. There aren't a lot of pop-stars that start out overweight. Yes, yes Ruben Studdard, but there aren't a lot.

If you want to be fat and famous, you better be willing to write your music, and push the envelope a little wink
