SWV - Use Your Heart I know this was not their biggest hit, but I still like this song.

I'm the first one, YAH! Ha ha. No, really I love this song. I would say it is my favorite SWV song. I this CD single out back in 1996.(Damn, I'm hella old). Pharell Williams produced this song, but I did not have any idea who he was until about five years later. The ladies' voices sound very mature on this song and them harmonies are tight. Also, the most appealing thing about the song was that it had (and still has) a dreamlike quality to it. [Edited 6/5/09 20:50pm]

My favorite SWV jam! I really think by the time they came out with this album and single, they were more developed and mature with their image and sound. Check me out and add me on:

I wasn't a huge SWV fan but this is my favorite track by them.
It's smooth and laid back. It was a nice follow up to the skanky You're the one for me. Don't laugh at my funk

Everyone says that USE YOUR HEART wasnt a hit..so what did it do on the charts? I know it tanked pop, but it had to be top ten r&b.. I remember hearing it a lot on BET and r&b radio

Yep, no the Neptunes produced this track.AT the time it was released however, I didn't know, hell I didn't know they existed. I didn't know of them until "Shake Yo Ass" about 4 years later. I did know the songs SuperThug and Lookin' At Me and I Hate You (So Much Right Noe) but didn't know those cats yet. # 22 Pop / # 6 RnB, not a bad follow up. PRINCE: Always and Forever

I liked this cut we actually got to hear Taj's voice which IMO wasn't all that bad... I am not African. Africa is in me, but I cannot return.
I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back. I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there. I am new. History made me. My first language was spanglish. And I am

Taj wasn't bad as a singer at all. I really liked the song "It All About U" from the same album. She sang lead on most it. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

"Use Your Heart" was SWV's 7th-consecutive top-10 R&B hit, reaching #6 in 1996. After their lead single "Right Here" peaked at #16, they hit big with "I'm So Into You" (#2), "Weak" (#1), "Right Here/Human Nature"/"Downtown" (#1), "You're Always On My Mind" (#8), "Anything" (#4), and "You're the One" (#1). Lack of a physical single helped kill "It's All About U" and "Can We" (my favorite), but they bounced back with "Someone" (#5) and "Rain" (#7). "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Yep she was very pissed Timmy, it took till the end of the next school year to even get her to talk to me at all again, and her and the "Friend" actually got in a fist fight over it. We're actually cool again, I just hung out with her and some old H.S. friends of mine on my B-Day May 17th.

Man, this brings me back. Yeah, this was SWV's best song. • Did you first think Prince was gay? •
Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.
