I love Tori! I haven't heard the whole album, but I've heard a few of the new songs.
I think they are pretty and pleasant, but they didn't blow me away. It is very much what you would expect from Tori. I know every artist has their style, but to me the new songs are a little too predictable and mellow.
I preferred American Doll Posse. At least it took some chances. But maybe the new album needs more time to grow on me.
But it seems very ballady and mellow. Maybe I was looking for something more fierce and groundbreaking.
But of course I will buy it and see her live. Her U.S. tour dates were recently announced.

can't wait!!! so excited!!! EVERY Tori release is an event - no matter what.

I LOVE "The Beekeeper." One of my favorite Tori albums, probably in my top 3 along with Lil Earthquakes and Choirgirl. "American Doll Posse" was great in the first 2/3...but WAY TOO OVERLONG. Too many less distinguishable dark ballads on the back end. The disappointing one-two punch of "Scarlets Walk" and "Strange Little Girls" killed my level of fandom from about age 14 to 21, but it's all good...

HOPING THIS ONE IS THE SHIT!!!!! yay tori.
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I've liked Tori ever since she came out. I haven't loved everything, but I appreciate and respect her for doing what she does. She tends to get a little deep sometimes, but that is part of my liking an artist. Challenge me, provoke thought and emotions. From one listen, I'd say it follows the path that she has paved for her fans thus far. And a great title track as well!

I'm loving this album right now. I was disappointed with ADP and this album to me feels much more natural and real.

My favourites are Ophelia, Lady In Blue, Maybe California and Strong Black Vine (which I see as a cousin to God from Under The Pink).

It always amazes me how she can write so many great songs so effortlessly. She's a real treasure in an otherwise bleak industry...

I'm a little disappointed in it. I think the songwriting, in places, is as good as ever, but after the kick-ass glam stylings of American Doll Posse, I was kind of hoping she'd go with that level of energy for awhile. This is firmly back in "The Beekeeper" territory, I think.

You see, that shows how diverse her fanbase is, because the last thing in the world I wanted from this album is another ADP-style record. I found ADP to be her weakest, most contrived work to date. AATS however is like a breath of fresh air to me.

Any word on when the ADP live DVD is due?

They've been talking about this for over a year now. Is it actually happening?
