Super Vinyl

My brother is slowly off-loading some of his records to me for "safe keeping".

First delivery...

Wynton Kelly Trio/Wes Montgomery - Smokin' At The Half Note - Verve (unopened)
Miles Davis - Four & More - Columbia (unopened)
Ike Quebec - Bossa Nova Soul Samba - Blue Note
Grant Green - Solid - Blue Note (unopened)

The other day...

...these 2 sets arrived.

The Complete Blue Note Recordings of the Tina Brooks Quintets (4 LPs)
The Complete Blue Note Recordings of Art Blakey's 1960 Jazz Messengers (10 LPs)

Since these are quality box sets released by Mosaic Records, the accompanying large information booklets (liner notes, release details, photos, etc) are superb. Also, because they are Limited Edition releases once they're out-of-print, that's it.

*This two LP set provides an authentic reissue of the world's most famous jazz record, and it corrects a mechanical problem that occurred during the recording process. It has been determined by Sony engineers that the tape machine used to produce Side One of the original record in 1959 was running about 1 1/4 percent too slow during the recording session. When the tape was played back at 15 inches-per-second for the transfer to the production master, the pitch was too fast.
