I saw Clarence Carter live one time. Man, this guy is a FREAK!!!! He's not vulgar, just VERY SEXUAL. He starts moaning and having the females call his name as he strums his guitar. He did entertain me. I actually enjoyed him better than Al Green (who was on the same show).

Oh hell yeah. My sister and I used to sing along to the chorus...we still do sing this hot mess from time to time. lol

My dad got the tape with this song on it, it's on an album Clarence released called "Dr. C.C." lol

Yeah, I think he first came out in the early 1960s. His first hit was actually recorded in 1966 or 1967 titled "Slip Away", people know him better for this song and "Patches" (1970), lol.
