I have a feeling he was in on it though.

Camera was already focussing on him very early in the sketch.

edit: Ok, missed the other 9 pages of this thread so missed the part were it was already established that it was staged.

I kinda want to believe the version of events that says Eminem agreed to some kind of stunt, where Cohen/Bruno descended into his lap (or was to be differently dressed, or something), and he was 'in on it' in that sense, but that it wasn't supposed to be a face full of bum; and that the MTV writer's post was part of a 'damage limitation' exercise on behalf of him, with the channel trying to appease him.

I think that, sadly, that might just be wish fulfillment, though. America's so f***ing litigious; who'd dare to do something that could count as some kind of 'assault' without having it all totally cleared? I'm trying to suspend my disbelief, though! razz

MTV: "You'll agree to this thing or we aren't promoting your shit anymore"
Eminem: "Oh, uh. Okay"

Eminem Cracks -- Admits Involvement in Taintgate

Posted Jun 3rd 2009 5:45PM by TMZ Staff

In case you still believe the Eminem/Sacha Baron Cohen incident from the MTV Movie Awards was real... Em just proved you're a gullible Gary by admitting he was knee deep in Sacha's butt stunt.

Em became the 496th person to confirm the whole thing was planned, telling RapRadar.com, "Sacha called me when we were in Europe and he had an idea to do something outrageous at the Movie Awards. I'm a big fan of his work so I agreed to get involved with the gag."

It looks as if, unlike some people, Em has emerged from this Bruno encounter unscathed.

RR Exclusive: Eminem Speaks On MTV Stunt And Robbery Rumors

http://www.rapradar.com/i...0bruno.jpg<---pic of Eminem and Bruno (it was too large to post)

Three days ago at the MTV Movie Awards, Sacha Baron Cohen caused a firestorm as "Bruno" when he landed ass first on Eminem. Many speculated for the days whether the stunt was staged or real, with everyone speaking except the man himself. Breaking his silence, Em spoke exclusively to Rap Radar about the entire "ordeal".

RR: Can you clear up the Bruno stunt at the MTV Awards? Was it staged or planned?
Eminem: Sacha called me when we were in Europe and he had an idea to do something outrageous at the Movie Awards. I'm a big fan of his work so I agreed to get involved with the gag.

If it wasn't planned the way you agreed to, do you hold MTV or Sacha responsible and will you take any kind of action?
I'm thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it. It had so many people going "nuts" so to speak. Everyone was blowing me up about it.

After you left the ceremony, where did you go?
After the ceremony I went back to my hotel and laughed uncontrollably for about 3 hours. Especially after I saw it on air.

There is a rumor that you hotel room was robbed and theives got 60K and your laptop while you were at ceremony. Is that true and if so what would someone find on your computer?
The only thing was that I lost a Nike watch that we were looking for. The rest it is made-up like half the other stuff out there.

How do you think the show with Jay went and how did it feel performing "Renegade" again?
I love performing with Jay. Its the third time we've done the song together live and its always fun. It was an honor to share the stage with him again and to work with his band.

So it was all staged and Eminem was in on the joke lol

If anyone knew a bum was coming their way, they would have run as fast as possible. Yet Eminem was just sitting there and even those bodyguards were so laidback trying hard to not laugh lol

Yeah that was Sacha Baron Cohen. Yeah the bodyguards did look like they were gonna fuck him up. I don't give a damn, you just don't put no naked ass in anybody's face in public like that. lol

for real.....i mean where do these people come up with this stuff

kinda reminds me of all the hate for Kanye

i think the issue is that a lot of people just do not recognize talent, so they make fun of artists in order to feel better about theirselves

or they are just stuck in the past when MJ and Prince ruled the world and have lost touch with the rest of the world

You get used to it on here eventually.

If an artist came out after 1990, on here, they suck no matter what they do.

Yeah...there are way too many class of 1980's in here....I hopewhen I get older that I wont sound so out dated. My mom is 55 and she still knows whats going on with all the old and new artists...she informs me half the time.

I admit sometimes I watch the music channels and can't understand for the life of me how some of the acts even managed to sign a contract but I'm not about to spend my time on here creating threads designed to bag them all out over and over just because I don't get it.

I think that is part of the problem, the fact that people don't SPEAK up and say, "Hey I don't get it"!! As long as we the consumer and listener of this b.s., continue to do nothing, they will continue to release this mindless bullshit.

What is it that you don't get? People will admit that the music today, is crap. But, they still listen to it. One of the ways to stop it, is to not listen to it, or purchase it.

I think part of the problem is that people are buying less today so it's this cycle of less money coming in > less effort put in > poorer quality music > less money coming in....etc
