YES! Paul Rodgers has left Queen! I'm also a big big Queen fan, and I'm just thrilled at hearing Paul Rodgers has left the band. Don't get me wrong, The first tour was great (seen them at Ahoy, first time I saw Brian May and Roger Taylor!), but they should have left it by that!
They just didn't fit together! In my eyes! But the Q. is... What do u think Brian & Roger should do right now? Both should start making a solo record again. Finally deliver us the long awaited BOX sets!!! Get back at those Queen Collection DVD's (Please deliver a 70's concert on BluRay/DVD/CD!) Just a few ideas... what do u think?

both B and R had their own bands in the 1980s. They should have toured with them. Queen was dead when Freddie died. The Tribute concert with George Michael, Elton, Seal etc. shoulda been the very last live performance and Made In heaven the very last CD.
But May and Taylor just want to earn money and unfortunately people are actually paying much money to see only 50% of the original Queen cast.

Not completely true, in the beginning it was truly for the love of performing live. Sure, when they saw that a lot of people were coming to the shows, what the heck! Big bucks right! Like I said, they should have left it with the first tour. Or none, me hearing Paul Rodgers Freddie Mercury compositions,, it just made me sick! But Brian and Roger were really having fun with it all, great drums and solo's!!!
But u didn't answered my q. I say, open up the vaults and release the demo's, live concerts!!!

Goodbye Paul
I tried to see them here in Spain in their last tour, but tickets were way expensive to me, and I thought well, do I really want to see Paul singing all those classics and miss Mr Mercury... I mean, P. Rodgers is a hell of a singer, but Freddie's shoes were too big for him - that's my opinion. The re-edition of old stuff and the edition of new & rare vids on, that would be heaven! Will I ever find something on dvd of the Jazz tour ... Lion -- Go Peter go!!

I really can't stand Paul Rodgers. The guy sucks.
What they should do now is take on that new kid Adam Lambert. I was never a huge fan but the dude really did sound excellent with them on the AI finale.

What's George Michael doing these days?
Maybe Brian and Roger should ring him up....

I think Brian and Roger would both dearly love to get back to something as close to Queen as possible - it's their life's work, what they do best. It's just a shame that, as you say, Queen died the day Freddie died, so what they are chasing is an impossible dream. I think they should work on something new together - new singer, new songs. They'll always play the Queen songs, and so they should, why not? [Edited 5/28/09 2:58am] This is not an exit

They should stop looking for a singer! That Idol performance was shit! After the first time, Brian said, i ain't doing it no more, and yet, he's doing it for a second time?! Whats next; new pepsi song with Pink, Beyoncé and Britney, please stop making a laugh at yourselfs Roger/Brian, U're to damn GOOD for that!!!
Just release old Queen vault stuff, and keep on your solo work! No Queen tour, ever please... Freddie Mercury just can't be replaced.

Geez... you think Queen sucks with Paul Rodgers but that American Idol kid would be a good idea?? What is wrong with you? At least Paul Rodgers is a star in his own right and he was a perfect counterpart to Brian and Roger! I'm glad that they did the tours with Paul! At least or at last I got to see Brian and Roger play together and get some taste of what Queen live would have been!

"Feel Like Makin' Love". "Can't Get Enough of Your Love". "Rock N Roll Fantasy". People bitch about Foreigner being so cliched, but I tell you - Paul Rodgers WROTE THE DAMN BOOK on AOR cliche. Not to mention his deep husky voice just didn't suit the Queen songs at all. I am just not a fan of the guy, not one bit. And yeah, I do think Idol kid would be an interesting & perhaps great match. He's got the Mercury-approved vocal chops. He's got a flamboyant air about him. I think the guy would own the stage. Shit, I think they'd probably kill in the studio too. Brian May, are you listening?

Paul has a decent voice, but he can't do Freddie. No one can do Freddie. It might just be me, but I would never go see anyone singing Queen songs with the rest of the band. Queen died when Freddie died. You can't replace him.
I think that George Michael could sing some songs, but I would not want to see him or anyone become part of the band.

We all know that Rodgers was no match! That wasn't the q.
What should they do now????

Boy George is out of jail and I think he would be a good choice for Brian & Roger.
They could play the Queen hits along with the Culture Club stuff. Imagine Queen playing Karma Chameleon & Church Of The Poison Mind or how about the Boy singing Somebody To Love & I Want It All. I think Freddie would be very happy with the Boy up there as the new singer!

Roger and Brian should do whatever floats their fucking boat, plain and simple, they were responsible for alot of that music, just as much as Freddie was too. They have more money than the Top 200 album artists here in america combined will ever see in their lives, these guys want to play, and the fans have no right to tell them they cant, if you dont want Paul Rodgers, dont go, if you dont want to see half of Queen, stay the fuck home and watch the old dvds and play the old cds, its that simple. We arent in the band, we dont make the call, these guys lost a brother, and its not fair for us to judge them on wanting to still live and play. ITS NOT LIKE they are going up on stage and saying, "who needs Freddie, we're better now", i mean people LET IT GO.
As for the question, i would still release collections on dvd and things like that, but honestly as far as music, Freddie did say at one point that they didnt have much shelved stuff, their is some obviously, and outtakes im sure, but there might not be much. "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

They have hired Greg Brooks, 4 - 5 years ago, to select the material for the box sets... And yet still no box set! So maybe there's a lot of stuff lying there, they were even talking about a Freddie Mercury / Michael Jackson box set, with 'more' songs, than what we know! And of course live shows, Queen recorded a lot of live shows that didn't see the light of day yet... So, I'm really hoping they start working on something 'old' maybe a 70's bluRay... I would love to see people shocked, when they see a Freddie Mercury that's so dif. then the 80's, on a big screen tv in a record store! with his tight pants that would be so cool [Edited 5/30/09 2:27am]
