Jacksonville Jazz Festival 2009 A few photos I took during my time at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival last weekend. Jacksonville Jazz Festival Hall of Fame Jazz Band rehearsal (Snyder Memorial Church)... ...My best friend (musical mate & business partner), Longineu Parsons with pianist Marcus Roberts. Musical Director... ...Von Barlow (aka The Cannibal) Keyboard legend... ...Doug Carn Jacksonville Jazz Hall of Fame Inductees: http://www.coj.net/Depart...+Fame+.htm =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ...Joe Cleveland (agent), Longineu, Doug Carn & Rodney Jordan (bassist) ...Longineu, Alfred Waters (played sax with Ray Charles for many years) & JC ...Hall of Fame inductees Teddy Washington (trumpet) & Von Barlow =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Longineu & Jimmy Cobb... Jimmy Cobb (drums) is the last surviving member of the band that played with Miles Davis on Kind of Blue. His So What Band features the music of that influential recording. Larry Willis & Longineu Larry willis was the pianist with the So What Band. A great Jazz player with serious credits (Jackie McLean, Dizzy Gillespie, Woody Shaw, Cannonball Adderley, etc), many are only aware of his 7 year tenure with Blood, Sweat & Tears during the 70s. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Some of the other performers included...
