No, you've learned something. You and I both know that. You just can't admit it, but that's cool. Pride can be a burden to some. lol

Dude, don't act like you actually knew the line-up of the group that I layed out for you. You didn't, because your knowledge on James Brown is somewhat limited, as you have proven various times in this forum. I guarantee you that you don't even know half of the musicians I mentioned, and I can guarantee you that I could play you some J.B.s outtakes, and you wouldn't be able to tell when it was recorded and who played on it. So stop frontin', okay?

Most likely you'll beat me in my wisdom regarding Parliament. And you'll definitely be able to school me in Mint Condition. But there is one thing that is absolutely certain - and that is that you cannot and will not school me about James Brown. Okay? NEVER.

Let's not even address the fact that you've dodged every question I asked you about JB. This thread being the best example. falloff

I get that. I thought we had long moved on from that. I though we were discussing what you have learned today.
But since you obviously can't let that go - why did you like this clip then? If you don't care about anything about J.B. after 1970ish, why did you hooray on this thread? razz

Last time I checked, we equally responded to each others posts. I didn't let go, neither did you.

But I agree, let's wrap things up. You dodged questions. You got schooled. That's for everyone here to see. It's on record, whether you admit it or not. Now I hope that you'll let go and I will see you on another thread. razz

Still can't let it go, dude? Ok, I'll bite. Did you notice that between the two of us, you are the only one who has contributed nothing to this discussions but opinions and hot air? lol No information, no facts? Instead, you make fun of someone who presents some facts? falloff

What about a challenge? I love challenges. Let's have other forum members post YouTube clips of James Brown, and you and I determine when the footage was recorded and we identify the players.

And to make it easy for you, I'll give you some advantages. We can focus on the pre-1971 era, since your post-Bootsy era knowledge is close to zero, as you have demonstrated on this thread. We can also not count in this last discussion, so our little challenge wouldn't start of with 1-0 for me. And I'll even throw in a couple of points for you to begin with - the challenge would start with a 2-0 advantage for you.

Are you up for it? Come on. This can be fun. falloff

Naw, whatever, dude's not up for the challenge. lol

I stand by what I wrote, so I'm gonna give some personnel info and shit for the last clips posted ...

Mike Douglas Show
On air May 10 or May 14, 1971
James Brown (vocal)
Bobby Byrd (co-vocal and organ)
Jerome "Jasaan" Sanford (trumpet)
Fred Wesley (trombone)
St.Clair Pinckney (tenor saxophone)
Jimmy Parker (alto saxophone)
Harlon 'Cheese' Martin (guitar)
Robert Coleman (guitar)
Fred Thomas (bass)
Johnny Griggs (percussion)
John 'Jabo' Starks (drums)

Hollywood Palace
(Season 6, Episode 23) Recorded March 3, 1969
On air March 15, 1969
Alfred Ellis (alto sax)
Maceo Parker (tenor sax)
St. Clair Pickney (baritone sax)
Jimmy Nolen (guitar)
Charles Sherrell (bass)
Nate Jones (drums)
Ann Norman (dance)
Danny Ray (cape)
Sammy Davis Jr. (host and vocal on There was a time)

Studio 54, New York
Circa 1980
James Brown (vocal)
Hollie Farris and Jerome "Jasaan" Sanford (trumpets)
Joe Poff (alto saxophone)
St. Clair Pickney (tenor sax)
Jimmy Nolen and probably Ron Laster (guitar)
Jerry Poindexter (organ)
"Sweet Charles" Sherrell (clavinet)
probably David Weston (bass),
Arthur Dixon (drums)
Johnny Griggs (percussions)
Martha 'High' Harvin and Ann Bedding (background vocals)
Danny Ray (MC)
I have to admit, I have a hard time identifying the female dancer. smile

Night Train live
This is footage of the legendary T.A.M.I. show, taped in spring of 1964 at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. Marvvin Gaye, The Rolling Stones, The Supremes and many other acts were on the bill that day as well.
The line-up is very hard to identify. Obviously the Famous Flamous are Bobby Byrd, Johnny Terry and Bobby Bennett. Danny Ray is the M.C.
The musicians are hard to be made out, I'll have to check this out a few more times again today.
