Looks like him and Okrah were just involved with distribution and not on the creative side. At least, I think so . . . beg

yep! All he did was help distribute it

You can kinda tell:
It's well written
based on a book
no mention of Madea, Mr. Brown
no overacting lol

Mariah and Lenny aside, this looks like a really awesome, intense movie. excited I hope it doesn't get lost in the whole art house scene.

I read a review somewhere that Oscar buzz is starting with this movie and that Mariah's performance is stellar.

This looks to be an interesting film. I am not used to seeing Mariah dressed down like that neither. I only hope that her performance is as stellar as that review stated.

Not to mention the dark wig. She definitely looks different.

Mariah’s performance and wig aside, I hope this is a good solid movie. I am not a fan of Mo’Nique but non-comedic acting has impressed me before and dare I say I’m looking forward to her in this flick.

No, two different movies... the guy that produced Tennessee directed Precious. Last I heard it was slated for limited release on June 5th.

Maybe so. I haven't heard much in awhile. Maybe they should try to ride the wave of this movie if possible.

Ottensen

This looks tasty.

I guess there is an abuse sub-plot in this and I'm interested in seeing how they play it out. The stories about Perry & Winfrey's cruel childhoods were horrific enough so whatever their past projects, I'm curious to see what message they're excercsing through this film nod

Tyler & Oprah are ONLY funding the movie,,,,we could thank the almighty for that.

I already have the book(which was a gift from my big sis) but I haven't read it yet, and I don't intend to read it before watching the movie,,,,,I want to watch and enjoy the movie without trying to find what important details they left outta the book.

Lee Daniels put his FOOT into this movie, I can't wait to see it.

Exactly. hmm

Like I told somebody else, just imagine the most horrific moments you've ever read in a Gloria Naylor novel, mixed with the depravity you can find in a Toni Morrison character...this ain't no kinda storry to mess with nod
