You've got me wanting to listen to Dylan now! Maybe I'll pull out the "No Direction Home" DVD and watch that tomorrow. Hmmmm....

Thanks for posting this. Dylan always has a way with words. wink

It’s obviously far more complex, but this press conference coupled with the reaction from many of his fans for daring more than was worshipped is perhaps an inkling inside the inspiration for “All Along the Watchtower”.

Seemingly everybody wants a piece just so long as it serves their selfish needs.

Be what we want you to be, Dylan. Sell the way that we want you to sell, Dylan. Tell us our wildest dreams, Dylan.

Thanks.

I was actually shocked to see the way his fans reacted when he dared to go electric. "Traitor", "Sell-out", etc. were some of the kinder things they had to say. I'm glad he did what he wanted, and not what his fans demanded. He came out with some incredible music doing it his way, and not the way others demanded. The man is a poet from which music flows. (I unfortunately saw a correlation between fans of Prince and the fans of Dylan in demands of how they want the artist to create music.)

Yep. And I think the more one brings to the table, the harder they're served. No wonder Jimi Hendrix grabbed this one so deeply.
