80s Slow Jam of the Decade: "Holding Back the Years" by Simply Red

One of the most lush songs ever:
"Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

There were a lot of great slow jams in the '80s, this one is up there too.

This took me a while to get into. I just couldn't QUITE get there with it. I liked "Money's Too Tight To Mention" more when it was released. Of course over the years I loved both of them. I like Angie Stone's cover of "HBTY" too. I think it's on a soundtrack (Basketball Dairies or something like that?)

I really dig "Sunrise" which samples Hall And Oates "I Can't Go For That".

I like Sunrise as well. I love Mick Hucknall's voice-great blue eyed soul singer.
