Marvin & Tammi never did "You Are Everything" (the song you're probably referring to in "Everything"). Marvin did the song only in the studio and Diana Ross filled in the duet spot (since they recorded separately) for their duet album. As far as I know, THEIR version hasn't been sampled. She also, or should I say, Jimmy & Terry, sampled James Brown's "The Payback" (beats and bass riffs only) and she vocally interpolated A Taste of Honey's version of "Sukiyaki" in her verses (she about stole it, lol!)

I worked in clubs during this time and if the DJ played any of these songs it would get KRUNK, everybody going to the next level. The funny thing is that as old as these songs are when they get played in the club TODAY everyone STILL gets excited. Club/hip-hop music today SUCKS!

yeah the 90's were a really good time for r&b/hip hop, and I liked almost everything I heard, though I'm certainly not like that anymore and more picky.

1995 was probably one of the most exciting years for r&b/pop music

I think I played that damn Up Jumped the Boogie album (or was the title Welcome 2 the World by Tim and Magoo?) like 70 times, and Aaliyah's One in a Million more than 100. Both of them scratched the fuck up.
