It's funny that you mention Vanity 6 because I bought Grandmaster Flash's and Andre Cymone's album on the same day. It was Christmas time and my grandmother said..."Pick out something you want". lol

..." Scorpio By Grandmaster Flash & The F5 – That was done by Reggie Griffin SOLELY. He did everything on that. They put Scorp. on it ‘cus he was the mysterious one in the group,
he really was like a hype man that got everyone pumped up, so that was them giving him some shine. He was the freaky dude; he was down with Waterbed Kev and all them.
He was such a mystical dude and Mrs. Rob. (Sylvia Robinson) liked that. He played a major part because he brought a look and attitude to the group that Flash needed. "...

Thanks. I never knew that. The name Reggie Griffin sounds familiar. Didn't he release some stuff under his own name? I'm wondering if he is the same one that released "Throw Down" under the name of Griffin in 1984.

You're welcome thumbs up! & Yep, that's the same Griffin and taken from his second album called "Hot Fingers" on Qwest Records. The picture you see above is from his first album around 1982, called "Mr. Everything", released on Sweet Mountain Records, a sublabel of Sugar Hill Records. He also released around 1982 the single "Mirda Rock" under the name of "Reggie Griffn & Technofunk". It was popular in the 80's electrofunk-scene. Before his solowork he was part of the 70's group Manchild, together with Babyface and other cats. In the same year of "Throwdown" he was also an artist representative at Warner Brothers and a major force behind the production of Chaka Khan's single "I Feel For You". He arranged to get Melle Mel rap on her single.
