What is your pick for overall Idol winner??

I prefer Lambert, but I think if Kris Allen takes it, we would have the upset of the year and some fantastic TV. I think Adam's career would b bettered 4 it.

Adam, but Kris might be the dark horse this year and win it.

I watched it once when there were like 4 male contestants left. Couldn't really tell those ones from each other either by their looks or the way they sang.

During the previous seasons at least there was a dreadlocked Stevie Wonder wannabe or a an overweight karaoke singer surviving the last rounds, so it was sort of easier.

Adam is already a star and he could easily win it .....however the teens and young girls could easily put him in the winning spot. which ever way it goes both of the guys will have successful albums in the near future.



I personally think Idols final two should have been Adam and Allison the decision would be much more tough to decide....

I grew up in a very small East Texas town. You should hear some of the comments that a lot of people make about topics like gays, Obama and other social issues.

I was on Facebook chatting with a classmate of mine and she was so furious at Obama for cutting out the abstinence program. She said things that I wouldn't dare say about him and his policy. She was born and raised in the East Texas area and has never left. It's sad to say, but there are millions of people like that in the US.

I find it ironic that in the area I grew up in, a lot of people talk about how they hate gay people. However, a lot of the gay guys I've met since I've been an adult in the Dallas and Houston area grew up in East Texas. One guy I met says that there must be something in the water because he knew so many gay guys from that area.

So, yes, I know that there are still people that care about that. I'm sure if you talk to a lot of people in KY, AL, GA, MS, MO, etc. you will find a LOT of people are still very conservative.

Adam Lambert isn't in the closet. He probably never has been. He ain't hiding anything either, before, during or after. There are a mass of videos and pictures of him out on the web and many were posted BEFORE he was on idol. He has friends and friends posted pics. HE posted pics. He's in drag or some sort of theatrical attire, performing in clubs, etc. I hope he wins JUST so we have the first out gay American Idol.

He's not the first contestant to be gay. Jim Verraros, Clay Aiken, RJ Hilton, and others have been gay.

Now, for the issue of being OUT. Gay people do NOT have to announce "I'm gay!" to the world to be considered out. Why do straight people, or even other gay folks, think there has to be some huge announcement for a gay person to be "out" ? Do straight people announce they're a breeder when they are in the public eye, or even among friends? Oh, it's because people ASSUME they're straight until told otherwise. I wonder what would happen if we assumed everyone was gay. EVERYONE was gay, until they announced otherwise. Sounds preposterous doesn't it?

Adam is out, and gay. His family knows, his friends know. The people that matter to him on a one to one basis know he's gay. And as a gay man let me say (and other gay folks here might agree with me on this), being gay is about 10% of who you are on a day to day basis, that 10% being who I'm attracted to. Otherwise there is no difference. A gay guy can still kick your ass, and you have nothing but the bragging rights to tell your buddies that a fag beat you up.

I say all that to say, Enetertainment 19 isn't going to try and squelch his gay side, and make him into something he's not. He's too strong of a personality and person for that, I think. Clay hid because he was probably in denial about it, being secretive about it. Ricky Martin's camp handled it based on Ricky, if he is gay, not wanting anything to come out. Regular gay folks are just who they are, like Adam. If someone happens to realize we're gay, so what, who cares. We know Adam as a great singer and performer, with that Axl Rose/Steven Tyler type voice. Oh, he's gay? Yeah, who cares.

During all of the press interviews, Adam was asked about his sexuality. The only thing he would say was that he knew who he was. With him doing that, that tells me that 19 is telling him to not to confirm or deny anything until he wins. If he then wins, they will do something different.

I think Adam is definitely a strong personality, but he wants to make it big. I think he would be willing to do anything it takes to get there also (except for maybe play it straight). Now, that's not to say that it's any different than the way they handled Clay Aiken's career either.

BTW, what happened with RJ Helton? Last I heard, he made a gospel album and was being managed by Matthew Knowles. I know that Matthew is not his manger anymore, but what is he up to?

Kris didn't deserve it imo. I was kinda shocked. Totally thought Adam was the better singer and entertainer. Even Danny or Allison would have been better. At least those two could really sing, but I guess America spoke and that's who they chose as their winner. It is what it is.

Adam is still my fave one though! I am looking forward to whatever he comes out with. I think he has a lot of potential.
