Thank God this was never released. I will say this: at least Madonna takes risks and obviously, she realized this was not a good risk.

I'm not sure if all this info is 100% real, the only thing we know for sure is that there is a new song called "Revolver" and that there are two different demo versions floating around...

The 1st demo features Lil Wayne but no Madonna...

The 2nd version supposedly features Madonna but no Lil Wayne...

hmmm So let's sort out the rumors...

The song was written by Lil Wayne,he recorded his own version, submitted it to Madonna, she re-wrote some lines and recorded a version of her own.It is unknown if Lil Wayne will appear on the final version. The song is expected to be the first single from Madonna's upcoming 'Hits' CD,hence the title "Revolver".

The one with Lil Wayne is unlistenable. Is that a word? It should be. Anyway, the Madge version is okay. I like the verse but hate the chorus.

I like it. The chorus is totally catchy!

But it's a direction I dislike. It's that Britney Spears trash sound.

Some of her fans say it's supposed to be R'n'B but I think it's current bubblegum pop.

Her HC stuff drew from the 80s, this draws from today's radio trash.

Yeah, the 'Hard Candy' material was much better than this. Those songs were heavily influenced by Madonna's 80s sound, especially the Pharrell tracks.I wish Madonna would just release a couple of the 'Hard Candy' outtakes on the Greatest Hits set.

I think we both are the only ones who wish to hear more of those sessions, Davy... confused

But come on, how could you wish there were no NEW songs on the GH?

I'm all for letting outtakes leak. There's no need for bonus tracks or b-sides as long as there are leaks. 2008 was a good year for leaks.

So far there was very little. Only a solo demo guitar version of Love Express from 1980/1.

I wann have

Across The Sky
First There's A Kiss
Love Attack
Pipeline
Working My Fingers To The Bone
Warning Sings
Desperately Seeking Susan

and or Steve Bray produced demos of the LAV/LAP songs!!

Oh,I'm all for getting new songs on a greatest hits set but I want those songs to be GOOD.Based on this demo,"Revolver" doesn't sound too promising.I'm more curious about "Across The Sky",especially since it's rumored to be similiar to "Miles Away" (which I love).

So no collab w/Lil' Wayne! cool That's good, if it's true. By the way, that Obviously ain't Madonna's voice on the 2nd video... wink

Across the Sky is Probably the original form of Miles Away, much like they always attack was the first version of Words.

I like Lil Wayne's version, and yeah the female does not sound like Madonna, even with the autotune effect.

hmmm Yeah I have heard this theory, but I'm convinced that "Across The Sky" is an entirely different song. The lyrics are totally different,it's about a woman who's fed up with losing at love. She meets a new guy and finds herself falling in love again, wanting to "travel across the sky" with him.Considering what's going on in her personal life these days (divorce and the new man in her life),the song would be very timely, lol. It's been described as midtempo, featuring lots of acoustic guitar and Justin Timberlake on background vocals, which is probably why it's said to be similiar to "Miles Away".Using the snippet that leaked,a fan put together a very good remix version of it,giving us an idea of the song's melody...

Yeah,it's not Madonna singing. It's rumored to be some girl named Shawna. And yeah,it's a good thing that Lil Wayne won't appear on it after all lol I didn't mind Kanye West appearing on 'Hard Candy' but I don't like Lil Wayne's rapping style at all.

a.) Across The Sky was described as having the Miles Away vibe. Guitars, airy vocals and personally I always think of the sea when I listen to MA.
ATS seems to be another song though, juding the clip.

b) Revolver was reportedly written by Lil Wayne. His demo leaked. Then it was reworked by someone and Shawna recorded a version that possibly served as the demo for Madonna. I bet she'll copy Shawna's style.

I tell you, the song will be credited to like 5 people!

Updates on "Revolver".....

***The girl singing on the demo is not named Shawna, her name is RaVaughn. She's a popular session singer who sings demos that are submitted to other artists.

***the song was originally submitted to Katy Perry and Flo-Rida (it's likely that Flo was gonna rap on the track with Katy).

***DJ Frank E,who is apparently the song's producer, then submitted the song to Lil Wayne. He re-worked the melody and re-wrote it,but then he decided to make a rock album instead,so he decided not to use "Revolver" after all.

***DJ Frank E. submitted the song to Madonna and she liked it.She re-wrote it and recorded her own version a few weeks ago.
