I've been reading some of the Huffington Post blogs and the entertainment blogs, and it's sad how some supposedly educated pundits have turned this into a Prop 8 issue. While I suspect that a very small number of people voted for Kris because they were homophobic, I think the bigger (and more disturbing) reason Kris won was because America has some pretty safe but bland tastes in music. Adam has a vocal style which is very theatrical and can be polarizing to people, just like people who hated the screeching done by Robert Plant during his Led Zeepelin days or Axl Rose, or those who think Mariah Carey's high notes are like cats claws against a blackboard.     I thought that both Danny Gokey and Alison Iraheta deserved to be in the finals more than Kris, but Danny has a very safe, mainstream style as well. Having said that, I think it's better in the long run that Adam didn't win, because he can now put out that great album he wants to create for himself instead of doing the cookie cutter product that AI will force on Kris.

Robert plant 68-72 had the GREATEST voice ever mariah carey sounds horrific sometimes It's all about how you use your voic on each track. Adam toned it down singing smokey robinson; he's amazing i have to say and i normally hate these shows. The u.k version is garbage in comparison. The talent here on these is PATHETIC. | |

I actually think this is good for Adam, being on American Idol is good enough to get your name out there, i dont know if getting labled as "the American Idol winner" can be a stigma.
I have no doubt whatsover that we will still know who Adam is two years from now, i cant say the same for Chris. | |
