I feel almost ashamed he was off of my radar for the first 6 years, it's only since Hard Candy that I know him, and since April that I GET into him.

I think he is fantastic, his voice is perfect for rapping. It's commercial, pleasant, not annyong like Eminem or Lil Wayne, just clean and charming. His hooks are amazing and I just LOVVVE 808s & Heartbreaks!!

I didn't really care for him until Diamonds are Forever, before that he was just another shit-hopper to me, though I sort of liked All Falls Down.

but it's more than his big mouth that attracts him to the people. his songs are def better than most other rap musicians. He's taking risks and does good videos.

Well if we're talking about actual skills, then i'd have to say no. Not by a long shot. His flow isn't that nice. I like his music though and I agree that he does take risks and I agree that unlike many rappers, he at least tries to step out of the box and do something different.

his skills are nothing special or unique, but his creativity and concepts are brilliant.

But Late Registration is more evolved than the first one, with help from songwriter and producer Jon Brion (who worked with Rufus Wainwright and Fiona Apple).

I highly recommend him to anybody who appreciates real rap music with thoughful lyrics and top notch production. You just about cant go wrong with any of his albums. I wont say the "best" because he hasnt been around for that long, but he is up there in 2000 + rap status. His live shows are hot too. He uses real instruments and doesnt have a whole bunch of people on stage acting a fool rapping with him. He takes his career seriously and doesnt fool his audience.
