MTV reviving "Unplugged"

1st episode: Adele

"MTV has just announced that British singer Adele will be the first artist to appear on a revived version of their Unplugged show. Previous artists to have been featured on the acoustic series include Neil Young, Alice In Chains, and Nirvana. You can check out Adele performing the already hushed "Hometown Glory" below. But tell us: who else would you like to see checking their electric geetars at the door?"

http://music-mix.ew.com/2...ick-o.html

- No surprise here, MTV and Vh1 are owned by VIacom; I wouldn't be surprised if BET "revives" something as well lol

Can't imagine many of the current top 10 sounding good here...
• Did you first think Prince was gay? •

Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

These channels (and record labels) are beginning to realize that the only music really making any money is from the artists that can REALLY sing.***Catalog artists*** Why do you guys think Fleetwood Mac & Cher are still selling out arenas? lol For the past 12 years the industry turned their back on real musicians, but the tides (and the economny) have encouraged a switch back to reality.

I would love to see Adele, a sober Amy Whinehouse, Chrissette Michelle, and of course.... Beyonce! She has other great songs she can do i.e Halo, Broken-hearted girl, Dangerously in love. Just to name a few! Idk why people pick songs like single ladies and crazy in love to diss her on but not recognize her talent on other songs where she actually sings! Haters make you greater!
There's no one that can do what I do!......not even HER!

Do you really think 'halo' is a good song? Agree with you on 'dangerous in love' though

My favorite Unplugged was for Courtney Love's band Hole!

It never came out on CD or DVD, except a few rare songs on a special edition of Live Through This, and a weird City Slang EP - but never the whole thing!

I found a torrent of the show as it was re-aired in Japan.

I agree on John Mayer and Jamie Lidell.

I also wouldn't mind seeing:

Adele
Chrisette Michelle
Jill Scott
Erykah Badu w/special guests by Edith Funker
Robin Thicke
VanHunt
Incubus
Lupe Fiasco
Wendy & Lisa

People have been receiving soybeans for years and have been begging for meat. Bologna without the bread ain't gonna do. Stop trying to push cheap shit as the answer and give us what we really want which is fucking steak, with the mushrooms, with the gravy, and with the baked potato.

And besides, "Hee Haw" is supposed to dead. Let Roy Clark and Buck Owens rest in peace.

The only thing I wanna see stripped down is a man. And even then, once he's stripped down, if he ain't got no instruments, there's no use for him. lol

Imago

I like the unplugged series nod

I really liked The Cure and Nirvana unplugged :excited fart love boff

But truth be told, I was sufficiently awed by Prince's acoustic live set during his Musicology multi-cast that I really think he could do something special on a revived 'unplugged'. He really connects well to his audience, and the vibe they bounce off each other was noticeable during the performance. Through it all, he didn't appear to break a sweat. If that could translate into an entire unplugged show, Prince could be the act all others would try and beat. IMO
