I really dig their cover of "Lost in Music" the mid-period I like the most...pop songs "Extricate" , "Shift Work" and "Code Selfish" may all be approachable albums, unlike some of the earlier efforts which can be a bit hard on the lugs. I like those albums very much (Extricate in particular is a big favourite of mine), but I prefer & usually direct people to the early eighties classics: Grotesque, Hex Enduction Hour and Perverted By Language are my favourite Fall records. No question, these are dense, noisy, pissy & ugly records, & certainly not to everyone's taste, but to me they're about as powerful as rock music can get. Totally Wired is a good summary of that era of the Fall if you're looking for a compilation. 50,000 Fall Fans Can't Be Wrong is as good a career-spanning anthology as you can expect, but with a band with so many albums and (despite their reputation for always sounding the same) so many styles, it does feel a little scattershot.

being on 8 different labels is no hope for a decent comp eh?
Hip Priests is possibly worth a gander too.

Best 90's rock debut by Manchester's favorite sons, Oasis. You won't find a better tunesmith than Noel Gallagher.

The Fall mate. Then New Order. Then The Buzzcocks (with Pete Shelley). Then Joy Division. Then The Happy Mondays. Then The Smiths.
Oasis ....? There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

Room To Live is underrated. A mostly great album, I think. Kurious Oranj is similarly underrated - I think it's the best Beggars Banquet album (I'm in a tiny minority here). Sure, it isn't the most technical album in the world, to quote Liam Gallagher 'it's just rock n' roll'. There's Joy In Expatriation.

Cigarettes and Alcohol was my anthem back in the day!

that one's never done much for me, but then i love the frenz experiment (should i be embarrassed to say that 'oswald defense lawyer' is one of my top five fall?), and that one's not a fan favourite either as far as i can tell.

that was around the Opera/Oranj time innit? Victoria appeared on The Frenz Experiment, & that was the album that preceded Kurius Oranj. It's not a covers album though: All of the the tracks besides Victoria were originals.
