cool Thank you!! I knew somebody else on org appriciated the Sylvers. I've been wearing out "PS The Unfinished Letter". I recently tracked down who owned what between the Big 4 record conglomerates and asked them to please released this families respective discographies. Only EMI was courteous to write me back and said this: "Thanks for getting in contact. At the moment there are unfortunately no plans at all for EMI to issue these recordings. At some point in the future, we hope to make them available as digital downloads, as we intend to make our complete catalogue available as downloads over the coming years".

Which means sometime after I'm dead. lol

lol Yeah, really!!! It's a crying shame, though. All of their stuff needs to be released-- They were so much more than just "Boogie Fever". I think the biggest problem was that they didn't have a Motown to back them. They got overshadowed by the Jacksons in the Seventies , and by DeBarge in the eighties....

I've heard many say the same thing, if only they'd been with Motown their music careers would've turned out differently. Hm.. I don't know, in highnsight I think signing with (Casablanca) was the wrong move; I thought Captiol Records dropping them was foolish. Some thought of the Sylvers as the "red-headed step child" of The Jacksons, I strongly disagree. Yea, their music goes waaaaay beyond the very few sugar pop tunes they did.

As far as the record companies, I don't know how they go about making a decision what's re-released and what's not. But it would appears to me if you have people listening to music on U-Tube, IMEEM and lastfm, shouldn't you make it available? I swear they are all stuck on stupid. I'm convinced all 4 are waiting for someone to topple Apple/iTunes/Mr. Jobs before they released much of anything else to digital download. These companies wonder why P2P sharing in some aspects and/or pirate Cd's continues, still not giving the customer what they want.
