New poster looks like a horror movie. And Mo'Nique is the killer. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

so true
she seems to be really killing it with her acting though, heavy stuff. although all of them (mariah included) seem to have done pretty good in this film

hmmm, it sems far too 'american' to get a British release.

How come Mariah gets to wear the cheapest wig in the movie? I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

i read this book and it was great...i wonder how much they softened up the story for the movie, because the book could get pretty raw at times.

i'm hoping for the best. i remember Lee talking about a specific scene involving the three women that he said was so tough to shoot but that the women went all the way for it.

Too tough for me. I like my horror films to deal with the fantastic and not real life. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I'd think the involvement of Tyler Perry AND Oprah AND Mariah would turn me away, but this one looks great. It's showing at Cannes this week. I'm gonna pick up the book in the next few days.

As I said in the other thread--and not sure why there's another one--I hope this is a good solid movie.
I’m also glad that Oprah has gotten behind a contemporary film for a change. And while I'm no fan of Perry's stuff, I'm glad he can shine some light on smaller films. Still wondering who Lenny is playing. [Edited 5/14/09 7:28am] Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off
